Acts like a warning against gambling addiction, this movie does. It's not as grand or as exciting as the previews might have you believe, but this is a good thing to me, focussing on character relationships over heroes vs villains. Al Pacino is good playing the same thing he always plays: a loudmouth smart-alec. The dialogue is snappy and fun, which helps him out tremendously. In the end, it feels like a cross between Jerry Maguire and Boiler Room, but it served its purpose.
