What's not to love about this movie? Great music, competent acting and great snapshots from yesteryear. Truly a beautiful film. A delight, go and enjoy. For once Gandolfini didn't over play his part and ruin part of the movie. He ties but mellows.

Great movie, good story, great cast. Brings back memories. Poeple were happier and life was simple and better those days!

Excellent! The Simpler Days where Talent was True & Honest! Rock/Music was purely inspirational & captured a Time, Generations of Cultural Movements & Lifestyles. Brilliant!

I liked it, it takes you back to the 60's, with some good music to listen. The 60's with different mentality, different problems, different music. I think it's a good movie, shows how lots of people try to make it big, but it's not all that succeed.

Despite the promise of autobiographical writing & directing by David Chase (Sopranos); excellent performances by a young & relatively unknown cast; and musical direction by Steve Van Zandt (Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band) this 'coming-of-age' snapshot of friends trying to get a band together in 60's New Jersey is pretty rough... just like the struggling basement band's music. If you like 'slice-of-life' peeks into the lives of the ordinary (such as Barry Levinson's 'Avalon') then you'll like this flick. But if you're expecting something more like 'The Commitments', then you'll be disappointed.

It's an exercise in style and nostalgia that works to some extent, but the lack of any particularly coherent story makes it a bit of a slog to sit through.

Good cast, fabulous sound track, potential to be great... falls short!

This is a debut feature film written and directed by “Sopranos” creator David Chase. A coming-of-age story set in the 1960’s that seemingly appears as though it has been drawn from Chase’s own experiences as an artist and young drummer. The story is supported by a fabulous cast and a slew of tremendous songs that pulls this movie together in order to make it palatable. Definitely, not a top 10 movie but certainly acceptable.
