How did this film slip onto the list of ACADEMY AWARD nominated films? A dark, dull cult film targeted to the same "STARTREK fanatic" demographics. This film is the first in a trilogy. It is editited into a package that is weak. The costumes are laughable. The acting is cardboard and the some of the special effects are very "SINBADish" in style! Very tacky! Very campy! This film will never stand the test of time (as the STAR WARS films), nor will it be considered a masterpiece in a year from now. It is aimed for 40year olds living in their parent's basements. Children below 14 will enjoy it, but then most of them enjoy JUNK FOOD!
