This is a fantastic film, a script that's etched in gold and every department neatly fitted in a seamless flow, flawless to the hilt and speaks of perfection in every frame. What an amazing display of creativity that hammered the plot and direction into a completely integral zone. Kareena Kapoor seizes the moment with her glamour and tempestuous seduction. Rani's performance was earthy, serene and humane. And Aamir (what is there to say about him? ) the guy knows completely what he's doing. The way his character is weighed down by the traumatic juxtaposition of his past - what it was and should have been was worth its weight of approval of the movie. You could not have expected anything better. Watch it if emotions stimulate you, if sensuous moments of romance tickle your imagination every now and then and also if you value good performances, drama, stroyline and appreciate creativity at its best. Who wouldn't?

Excellent movie overall. I went to see it because of Aamir Khan. No stupid songs. No faltu dialogue. Really good script and intelligent dialogue that rivals Hollywood movies. World class acting by all the 3 actors. A rarity in hindi movies. Don't miss it!! We need more of these kinds of movies.

Amir Khan is the best hero! Talaash is so far the best movie from Amir Khan! Again Amir Khan is the best!

Great movie, I like this movie. Amir and Rani at their best. I love Amir. He is my 'number one hero'. I only watch Amir Khan movies.

Quite slow execution of story. Second half totally lost the direction. Too much of emotional content thrown over the main story. Kareena did well.

I gotta admit, I'd given up on Bollywood films a few years back due to the same ol same ol crap but THIS movie is unlikely the usual - a sweet murder mystery that keeps you guessing till near the end. Instead of watching a bootlegged version, this is actually worth paying the full fare - go see it!

It's a really good movie. Surprise is revealed in the end, that's why the whole movie is very exciting.

Talaash is definitely different from the mainstream cinema that Bollywood has been churning out lately. It's appealing because it's different... serious and dark. However, the storyline could have been much better. It starts off strong in the first half and then goes downhill from there, especially with a disappointing climax. I expected much more coming from Aamir. I also wished Rani had more of a screen presence in the film. It would have been a good movie if the plot was stronger, still, good cinematography and emotional scenes.

The movie was worth watching but the suspense wasn't well-kept as you could guess the ending early on due to the way certain things were projected ( this to me was very amateurish to specifically add certain elements to 'the' character which would give the suspense away) I didn't find Kareena spectacular in this as she can be. What I also found distracting was that Kareena is a prostitute in this movie but the calibre of prostitutes' group she belongs to is not posh or high-class so her costumes, character seems totally out of place. Chameli type of prostitute would have fit the bill much better not this high-class call girl dealing with lakhs totally in contrast to the ghetto area she is working in w ghetto Madame, pimp etc. The movie was quite good though. Rani was great as always. Aamir was good but his part didn't really give him that much of a chance to shine. I feel there could have been more angst projected by him in his relationship w Kareena or maybe that was lacking in the plot and not him.

It is a well made movie. And since I do not read about movies before I go to watch them, I was pleasantly surprised with the plot. Coincidence: Aamir Khan and Nawazudin Siddiqui had exactly similar roles years ago in Sarfarosh. Aamir was a cop who questions Nawazudin who is a small time crook and Aamir grills him for information. :)

Just good enough movie. Story goes slow in second half but acting performances are good! Nwajuddin did well. Story lacks that grip which holds the audience and lacks fun quotient as well. Kareen didn't show the variety in her acting and Rani displayed too much of frustration. Overall, one time watchable!

I loved watching "Talaash". I loved the suspense, kept guessing who done it, who was good who was bad! If you have not seen, go see it now!

Damn slow movie! I couldn't digest the ghost thing but still the story wasted so much on Rani-Aamir part. Those scenes could be avoided. Some scenes between Kareena and Aamir were damn slow for e. g. hotel scene and were nowhere related to the story.

A largely unexplored genre for Hindi cinema, kudos must go to Zoya, Reema, Aamir and the rest of the production team for presenting a great murder mystery with hints of the supernatural woven in. The performances all around are first rate, as are the production and technical values. It's extremely rare for me to say it, but even Kareena's character got some empathy from me. (She usually plays loud and obnoxious roles, so this was a great departure for her.) As a paranoid dad myself, I also ached at Inspector Shekawat's back-story and his inability to connect with his wife. That's how the film had me most hooked. I so wanted the hero to redeem himself at the end and be happy again. Most importantly, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti make an excellent team. First Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and now this. Waiting for the hat trick.

Haven't seen very many foreign films these past few years so when I had the opportunity I jump on it to see this movie. It was different from the standard english fare and was quite intriguing although perhaps a bit predictable near the end. Overall a very well made and interesting movie with a cast of interesting characters.

Let me be honest here! I walked in expecting this film to be amazing but honestly it was alright... Very slow nothing exciting besides the end. Now for everyone that's seen Kahanni, well Aamir had to make changes to his script because both of the stories were so similar. At the end of the day Kahaani is a much much better film. Those who did not watch it definitely go check it out! Save this film for your tv. Disappointed Aamir fan :(
| 6/10 | ms.binning@ - 2 reviews 7.12.2012 - age: 18-25 |
A bit dull movie, totally opposite case of 3 idiots. Story lost its core part after interval, and second half was slow and going nowhere. Kareena and Aamir did well for acting. Rani was just average.
| 3/10 | gurmeet@ - 2 reviews 6.12.2012 - age: 36-49 |
The movie starts off very well, but after 20 minutes into it becomes very very slow, then picks up in the last 20 mins of the movie.
| 6/10 | al_khan7777@ - 3 reviews 6.12.2012 - age: 26-35 |
The movie was really amazing. My expectations were low because several people told me they didn't like it, but once the movie started and unfolded I realized that some didn't like it because it's not the typical Bollywood film. Trust me, go see it for the story, the acting, the emotions and the gripping ending. Don't go see it if you are looking for dance numbers, silliness, costumes etc. Acting all through on everyone's part, Amir, Rani and Kareena, was AMAZING.

Liked it, good movie, interesting and unpredictable. The actors did great job. Liked the way the movie ended. I think it's a remake of an old movie; worth seeing. I think the spiritual part of it was great, that's why I liked it more.

Movie isn't that slow or that bad. Acting is superb, just superb by all three casts. Climax is ordinary but it doesn't mean that people give rating 1 to this movie. Acting and cinematography are good!
| 6/10 | mukesh@ - first review 5.12.2012 - age: 50+ |
Movie could be better if could 'control' its story around interval. Cinematography was really good though. Climax seemed a bit strange that Bollywood still believes in ghosts for this kind of movies too. Overall, one time watch movie!

Putting big names in movie doesn't mean it will become a big hit. Well in this movie a long awaited movie, almost doing one year of promotions and getting all kind of rumors in market, that is a ripoff of Martin Scorsese Shutter Island, some said it's very similar to the Bollywood earlier this year release (VIDYA BALAN's) KAHANI but in the end it's not any similar with those movies but yes similar to lots of other Hollywood flicks like (M. Night Shyamalan) Sixth Sense, (Nicole Kidman) The Others. And I am sure there will be some more as well too, as far as I concern I predicted the suspense in starting 40-45 minutes of the movie, well I am sure many of those who are well aware of Hollywood movies can easily catch the so called suspense for sure, now I would really like to say about the director and the writers of the movie that casting big names like AMIR KHAN, KAREENA and RANI is the only reason to get good business out of this weak plotted movie. The movie slogan is TALASH (the answer lies with in) but for me (the suspense lies with in), if this movie is doing any business worldwide it's just cu'z of big cast like AMIR KHAN, I bet if the casting crew and the director cast any of other than them this movie would go down in the boxes in just a week time.

Not sure why Reema, the director, chose a ghost to resolve the mystery. Too much emotional quotient shown was a let down for the movie. Any particular movie should stick to its genre otherwise audience gets disappointed.

Ghost helps to resolve the case? What a joke! When would Bollywood try to improve? Acting was good but movie wasn't. Kareen always has one expression and one smile. Climax too bad, ghost!

Almost good. Emotional part was good but script failed in terms of story/suspense. Maybe the scenes between Rani and Aamir could have been reduced in length and movie went a big slow in middle of the story. Overall a good movie and serious cinema lovers will like it!
