An exhilarating, gory and absolutely hilarious movie. A blast from start to finish!

It was awesome. The coop was the best I ever seen.

"Bring the pain... Ray" (best line of the movie)!! Lots of B grade acting. Arnold is a little rusty. Johnny Knoxville is really hoakie, but the villains make up for it. If you measure success in cliché's and number of rounds spent to make a movie than you'll like this. If youre looking for the next oscar Nominee, find something else. Not bad considering Arnold has been out of the game for so long.

This is a fun movie and I went just to see Arnie. He played up the 'old' thing quite a bit, and it was amusing. The entire movie was mildly amusing. But there isn't anything unexpected in this film, the laughs are what are anticipated and in the spots expected so it's predictable. But that, likely, isn't the point about seeing this film. It's more for Schwarzenegger. He's made serious/comedies before and this is another one. I have to say, though, regarding his body of work, I've preferred him most as a robot.

Very stupid, like a twelve-year-old's attempt to write a generic action movie. Many of the actors were obviously just collecting a paycheque, including Forest Whitaker in far and away the worst performance of his career. It's at least never boring, and has some dumb laughs toward the end.

Well made and really enjoyable! A really good come back for Schwarzenegger!

Brutal violence. I'm amazed more people aren't turned off by it, but I'm old-fashioned. No one cares. Just because it's an action movie doesn't mean we need to see people's heads explode. I don't, anyway. I walked. It's not entertaining, it's sick (especially with the gun massacres in the US nowadays) And the acting was terrible, especially Forrest Whittaker. Love Johnny Knoxville - get him into something good, please!

ArnOLD is back! Not a bad movie, not good either. Could have made a much more exciting comeback movie with this king of a star!

This movie was very entertaining. It had action, drama and comedy. I have always been an Arnold fan and was glad to see he has not lost his touch!

I never as far as I remember walkout of a movie until now. Big fan of Arnold but this movie is garbage. I was hoping for something similar to The Expendable 2 with the cheesy lines and bucket of blood. This movie fails to deliver.

A great recipe with a few missing ingredients. This was a flop for the return of the greatest action star to ever hold a gun. The climax is a huge let down as well as the cast. An A for effort but when this is by far Arnold's worst movie, it says a lot. [Except] for 'Junior' I haven't witnessed that [...] film, the premise frightened me.

Yesss the movie is not too realistic to what might happen in real life, but that's why we go to the movies to see this kind of farfetched stuff... So we can Escape and forget our doldrums lives for a couple of hour and be laugh. If I want reality I watch news or a documentary. I want entertainment and laughter I watch Arnold. This movie delivers big time. Go see it!

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Everything about it just wrong. Guys with names like "Jay Owens" do not have heavy Austrian accents. Cars do not pivot 180 degrees on the highway and drive backwards. Bullets do not knock people flying when they get hit. I could go on, but you get the drift. It wasn't supposed to be anything other than what it was, but I still think they could have made it just a little more interesting. Fortunately, I like guns, fast cars, and Arnold so I'm really not complaining.

I don't think it is the best movie Arnie has been in, but it is the best since he returned to movies. There are a lot of holes in the script and sometimes the story seems a little over the top and cartoonish. But if you like Schwarzenegger you will enjoy the movie.

What is most apparent from watching the Last Stand is that Arnold has aged quite a bit. Yet what this film proves is that he can still brandish a shotgun or a 44 magnum with the best of them and can still deliver a pretty damn entertaining action movie in the process. Yes its incredibly silly, with inane dialogue to boot but the action does deliver the goods and Arnold is as charming and fun to watch as he ever was, proving that he hasn't forgotten how to give his audience what it wants.

First of all, this genre, mindless action/kill movies have been done to death by american movie makers. Even so called A movies, like Gangster Squad, are so poorly made, trying to cash in on this genre (violent shoot-em ups), that it took a Korean Director to bring back this entertaining genre. The story is simple enough but the script is tight, especially the Schwarzenegger character. Yes, I know he is not much of an actor, but so does the director know this and he has him played as a very quiet, understated man who really is quite boring, just as a US sherrif in a small town might be. An american director would have Bruce Willis in this role or Sly Stallone as wise cracking over the top hero. The jailbreak is quite clever and believable (when was the last time you could say something like that) and the bad guys were truly bad guys, worthy of a good fight. I found it very entertaining. North Americans have finally caught onto the Korean's abilities to make good movies and are beginning to cash in. The 2001 Joon Park version of OLD BOY is about to be redone by Spike Lee starring Josh Brolin. This original version is so good, that a remake has got to be good as well. Story is still the answer, something american filmmakers have long forgotten.

Not much suspense, very predictable. The only thing really good about it was the car.

It is not a great art movie. Come on! But... if you would like to entertain yourself for a couple of hours and leave in good mood, besides all the gunshots and the bloodshed, go see this movie. I would classify it as an action comedy rather than an action thriller. Good, old, non-talented Arnie and Luis Guzmán, are hilarious! Every time they say something they make you laugh hard! I liked this movie! It made my evening!

That's a generous 7. Another reviewer said Arny needs his embalming fluid changed. He does and he is about a quart or so low. Typical Arnold movie that Johnny Knoxville almost ruins. For fans it is, however, a must see and the audience seemed to get a kick out of it even though towards the end it does get really "corny".

I didn't expect much so it was an o. k. action flick. My favourite part was Jose Guzeman as he was hilarious. Sadly, you could see Arnold's aging especially with the close up and some of the action scenes where he was a bit slow.

So I'm a big, long time Arny fan first of all and that buys some cred with me on purely sentimental grounds. That said, the first 1 hour and 25 minutes play much like an average small town cop drama made for TV, almost completely devoid of anything remarkable, including my buddy Arny's attempts at a fairly serious bit of drama, not a strength for him to be sure. HOWEVER, I can see why this director is fairly highly regarded because the last 25 minutes of action were pretty fantastic, harnessing Arny's best movie qualities to full effect. Those last 25 minutes are quite funny, wild and just plain good old fashioned fun! The entire cast was full value and Arny was certainly a tad weak, until he was just flat out fantastic when the action heated up. I particularly loved that when creating a mano a mano situation for Arny, his age was taken into account fairly appropriately so as to not make him look like a goof. Twenty years my senior I know I'd still like my odds trying to run past that big bugger better than trying to take him down... lol All in all a mixed bag, but worth it if you're nostalgic for the big goon as I admittedly am.

I really enjoyed this movie, it's a good action, shoot-up movie, typical of all of Arnold's movies. Sure he's much older than his earlier movies, but he plays that up, as the aging sheriff. But he still has that charisma he always had, he's still an action star. Just go to enjoy the movie, don't look to try and pick it apart. It delivers what it's supposed to. Well worth seeing.

The wildly divergent reviews illustrate just how uneven this pic is. The predictable but serviceable plot surprises nobody. Bad guys create a clever diversion, but still rely on remarkable stupidity by the cops. The script both entertains and disappoints. But the cast... well, I love Arnie as much as anybody, but there ain't no way a guy who sounds like he does gets the small town southern sheriff job or a name like Ray Owens. Other strange accents decorate the soundscape. Forrest Whittaker is capable of much, much more. The men range from serious (Arnie) to caricature (Johnny Knoxville - no surprise - and, sadly, Luis Guzman) Lovely and delicate ladies make improbable law enforcement. They warn you about graphic violence, and they deliver. I don't know why. They have humans exploding like watermelons and watermelons going splat. Who needs all that red mist? It doesn't enrich the movie. It's pretty well paced. With a few casting changes and direction that cared a little more about character development and a little less about gory spectacle, The Last Stand would be pretty good. Instead, there are a few ludicrous stunts that leave anybody with a driver's license shaking their head. I'm sure anybody who has been in a firefight chokes on some scenes. But... it's OK.

This movie was funny and had lots of action scenes. The only part of the movie I had a problem with was how one Sheriff and 4 deputy's can stuff the cartel and the whole FBI could not; pretty stupid story line if you ask me.

I was hoping I could give this movie a higher rating because it was great to see Arnold on the big screen once again. But the plot and action was akin to an old Dukes of Hazard TV episode. What a waste of Arnold.

It is a good action movie with comedic relief spattered throughout. The storyline is heavily flawed but the action is steady. I am not sure why the bad guy simply didn't rent a helicopter... lol. This is not one of Arnold's best movies, but not one of his worst either. I just wish for once the bad guys with their massive artillery could shoot straight.

... I knew this was an action movie going in ---doi! And I liked it. I thought it was done very well. People who who wont see this because Arnie is in it is... simple. And if you just go to criticize Arnie --don't go. A good action movie. Don't know how he'll play an older king conan. But well see. Oh --right they're doing another twins movie. Good bad guy, good action some say predictable ---hogwash--its an action movie. Yeah they're getting older, but they're not gonna go retire yet. If he does another terminator--that'll be too much.

This movie would certainly be a 9 if the beginning wasn't so brutal, I mean I was falling asleep until they were going to give the killer death row, but after that it was gold, hilarious and good action.

It was an entertaining movie with good action and humor. Arnold is getting old but still delivers within his physical capabilities. The scene with the flare gun is hilarious.

If you like over the top action flicks than this is for you! , Not exactly a great movie but it's not trying to be either. This is your typical Arnold movie, Big guns, One liners, and predictable situations. All in all it is a great popcorn flick, just don't expect much.

We went into this movie with an open mind, all ready for a good Arnold-type B movie with action and cheesy oneliners. Instead we got an appalling script with so much cheese my cholesterol is now at 42. This was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Far too predictable, terrible sub-plots. Forest Whittaker, whom I hope fires his agent after this turkey is wasted, as is Harry Dean Stanton, one of the best character actors alive, who only has a cameo role. Johnny Knoxville is in this movie. His character gets shot. But not enough. As for Arnold, I so wanted him to do well. He not only looked in pain through most of the movie, he looked like he needed his embalming fluid changed. The one sole bit of actual creativity I saw in this movie was a unique way of killing off a bad guy in a gunfight. There were 20 people in the theatre on its first Saturday night. They all talked through most of the movie...
