This film, if you are into knowing knowledge of certain medications which deals with psychiatrists and stories of one female woman who had been going through a lot of anxiety, having to have a dull life at the beginning especially after her marriage, when her husband had to go to jail right after the wedding and still had miserable experiences with the medication she had. She at first was alone going to a woman daughter who had admired her as for female sex experience. She had done more harm than good prescribing medication that had a lot of side affects, which included knifing her husband. It was a mixed bag of emotions and action which had us wondering near the end who was in fault.

A good movie about the "side effects" about prescription medication.

This movie was too deep, and the lesbian twist at the end didn't have to be added in the film. Just so-so.
| 5/10 | shnagida162@ - 19 reviews 4.5.2013 - age: 18-25 |
I liked this movie because twists and suspense is something I love. It's like a who-done-it. I felt that it wrapped up all my questions by the end. The movie was fun to watch. It wasn't the most brilliant work, but fine for a weekday movie.

This movie really surprised me. There's a great twist which I won't give away and had me interested throughout the entire film. You should definitely try to see it!

Intriguing... I was drawn into this movie by the convincing acting, a plot I could not anticipate because of the twists and turns. The start of the movie does not predict the ending. Fast paced, roller-coaster ride which I want to see again.
| 8/10 | shamas@ - 5 reviews 8.4.2013 - age: 50+ |
I enjoyed Rooney Mara's performance in this film filled with twists and turns. Jude Law was very good as well as a psychiatrist treating Rooney's character. The film shone some light on the psychiatric profession, as well as the possible pitfalls of psychotropic drugs. The film didn't go where I expected it to go, with more emphasis being placed on some rather doubtful occurrences rather than an honest portrayal of someone struggling with mental illness.
| 7/10 | julieb43@ - 48 reviews 6.4.2013 - age: 36-49 |
This could have been a great movie, but the directing, even for Steven Soderbergh, was slow and dreadful. I liked the story-line just but not how the movie was filmed, especially with such good actors.

Lots of suspense. A great mystery, love the twist at the end.

You have to pay careful attention throughout this movie in order to make sense of the plot. If you just want to sit back and have it fed to you, you won't like it. I enjoyed the twists and turn. The acting was excellent and it felt "real" for the most part. A thriller for the mind; not an action movie or horror flick like some other reviewers were expecting. Yes, there was a bit of a cliche in there, but I think it was important to the plot.
| 7/10 | syldev@ - 5 reviews 24.3.2013 - age: 36-49 |
This was a fantastic thriller I've seen in a long time. Jude Law and Rooney Mara shine. The emotions and the courage shown by Jude Law was brilliant. And Rooney Mara's fantastic execution of the role makes this movie worth watching. The plot is clever and so are all the characters...

I thought the actors did a great job, I have to admit I was getting lost but the ending made it all make sense. Deep and thought provoking. If you want action not the movie for you. Great story.

I did not find it was a "good" movie. I was looking for a horror movie or a thriller but it was neither.

I have to say that it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The acting was jus so so but what does the sex scenes have to do with depression... I thought the girl suffered from depression and yet she makes up the story in the end. I suffer from a problem so does someone I know but I don't fake stuff like her. Oh well.
| 4/10 | moviewatcher@ - first review 11.3.2013 - age: 26-35 |
The story kept me interested and the film is well acted; well produced. An okay night out.
| 7/10 | rozzw@ - 85 reviews 10.3.2013 - age: 50+ |
All in all I thought an entertaining movie but mostly on the part of Rooney Mara's acting. I don't think anyone else could have pulled that role off. What I didn't like about it was it follows a very predictable Hollywood formula. Could have been so much better with a twist.

Saw the plot twist a mile away and didn't like the cliche motive (involving her doctor) Cheesy. And I love Jude Law.
| 6/10 | dannimac@ - 67 reviews 3.3.2013 - age: 36-49 |
OMG one of the dullest, most boring movies I've seen in a long time. It was a great cure for insomnia as myself and half the audience were all counting sheep.
| 5/10 | harveypeter@ - 20 reviews 2.3.2013 - age: 50+ |
Could have done without the sex scenes or at least they could have been done more tastefully. I enjoyed it for the most part but don't think I'll see it again. Took me awhile to figure out the twist, but it became clearer as time went on.

Such a great movie! You go into the movie thinking the plot is going to go one way, but there's an insane twist that is so unbelievable you would never even consider it! Definitely worth seeing, especially with the phenomenal cast. Jude Law puts on an incredible performance, and who doesn't love Channing Tatum? If you want a movie that will both shock and please you, this is the one to watch.

I didn't know much about the film before going to see it. I was pleasantly surprised by a few interesting plot twists and the slow-burning pace of this suspenseful film. I really liked Jude Law's performance as a in-debt doctor (thanks to NYC real estate loft prices, a city medical practice, as well as a blonde wife and stepson) who thinks he has found an easy way out of his financial dilemma and soon discovers nothing (and no one) is what it seems. It is a clever drama better suited to watch on an airplane or on Netflix.

An absolute piece of garbage. Totally boring. I couldn't figure out what was what when it comes to the plot. I was definitely expecting something much better. If I don't like a movie, I will usually rate it a few points for those who might like it, but in the case, sorry, a total nothing rating.

Really intriguing story, not what I expected but pleasantly surprised. Very well acted.

OK, so I have been tricked into seeing a criminal drama instead of a sci-fi or psycho-paranoid something, which I expected this movie to be. But at the end it was not bad, actually it was pleasantly watchable, although somewhat slow.
| 6/10 | luke@ - 8 reviews 24.2.2013 - age: 36-49 |
Good suspense, well acted. Starts slow then gets going. Rooney Mara was very good.
| 7/10 | huskymike@ - 29 reviews 23.2.2013 - age: 50+ |
It was ok, I wouldn't bother seeing it in the theatre, however it would be worth watching for free on Netflix. It was somewhat slow-moving in places, though the actual plotline was interesting and the twist was unexpected. Plus, getting to stare at Channing Tatum and Jude Law is never a bad thing!

Was wondering what I was doing watching such a movie for the first 35 minutes nearly walked out... good thing I didn't... the plot started and it turned out to be a good movie... glad I stayed.

This movie confirms that the word of authority figures (like policeman and doctors)will always be taken over that given by ordinary people in a court of law (for example, as in the real life case of disgraced Ontario forensic pathologist Charles Smith)
| 7/10 | chester1958@ - 6 reviews 21.2.2013 - age: 50+ |

I didn't know what to expect going in. I thought it might be a movie about pharmaceutical companies. However I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent performances by Rooney Mara and Jude Law. I don't know what people were expecting to be so thoroughly disappointed with the movie. It was a classic thriller with a very well thought out ending.
| 9/10 | hamza.li@ - 10 reviews 19.2.2013 - age: 18-25 |
Terrible movie. Way to slow. Twists and turns that weren't exciting and a waste of money. A bigger waste of time.

I enjoyed this movie once it actually started. Definitely a slow take off there. The twist was good! I would say this is worth seeing. If you're easily confused you may not like this movie.

J'ai apprécié la première partie du film, cependant la deuxième partie laisse à désirer en employant un dénouement cliché de film d'horreur du type "Ah, le gentil du film est finalement un méchant!"
| 6/10 | yanick.tremblay5@ - first review 18.2.2013 - age: 26-35 |
The best thing about this experience was finding out I had enough scene points for two tickets! From there it was all downhill. About 20 minutes in I asked my girlfriend 'Is it just me or is this awful' Not a good sign, ' It's a bit slow' she replied. Bad writing which made for some bad acting, some terrible framing which led me think Soderbergh must have had some side effects himself. Maybe too many party's with George and the boys. Give it a miss, the worst film I've seen in a while.

I was pretty hesitant to see this movie based on the last one of Soderbergh, which was horrible, Haywire, I think. This one was actually really solid from start to finish. The plot kept twisting and turning nicely, didn't drag too much in any one spot, and had, what I thought, was a great ending. The acting was great throughout, and even had a light weight girl on girl scene, which was a total bonus. Enjoy.

The best ridiculous movie I have ever seen. It's preposterous. But it doesn't matter because it's so well made, so well acted & so gorgeous to look at.
