Leslie Mann is cute. Megan Fox is hot. Leslie Mann poking Megan's Fox breasts to see if they are real was idiotic, as was the rest of this movie. Who came up with this horrible screenplay? The dialogue was bad and each character seemed more obnoxious than the other. How did Albert Brooks and John Lithgow get conned into appearing in this movie. Knocked Up was a cute movie. Even suggesting that This is 40 is some kind of sequel is absurd. A pathetic marketing ploy for a terrible movie.

I did not see Knocked up but this foul language over use of the F word was a waste of my time. There was a couple of laughs but hardly carried the show to a higher rating. I would not recommend it. Save your money for a better show.

Super funny! Lots of laughs. Not one to miss if you enjoy other Judd Apatow movies!

I laugh so hard I cried! Haven't seen a funny movie like this in a long time, I'd watch it again for sure!

Some funny moments. True and interesting note: I found the smallest child to be extremely annoying and a terrible actress form first sight and alas in the credits: Related to Apatow!! A mistake that is made is casting your friends and family in your movies (See Sandler) instead of casting the best person for that role! Sense of entitlement and self absorption will hopefully be your doom, unfortunately you (Apatow) have already made yourself stinking rich!!

This movie is freakin' hilarious. I am 50 and I laughed all the way through, in hysterics at some points. LOVE IT!

The only people who could find this movie funny are those who find honey boo boo funny and/or they finally found a family sadder and more messed up than theirs. This family with a huge house, driving $60,000 cars whining about money problems, spouse problems, kid problems, parent problems... every family cliche in the book... for 2 1/2 hours. It seemed like they had an arranged marriage... they didn't have anything in common, had no chemistry and couldn't communicate enough to pass the salt. The only believable part is when they say they hate each other. If this is funny to you, your relationship must truly suck.

Found it to be very funny! Overall I would say it's good, but not great. Worth seeing.

The movie has little plot and no point to it.

Teenage daughter steals the movie in my book. Entertaining look at family life today. Made me laugh out loud which is a bonus.

Realistic situations, funny, but overkill on the arguments! There were too many arguments that lasted too long. I felt exhausted when the movie was over. Also, the language was overkill. The "f" word became really annoying to the point of almost ruining the movie in my opinion.

I thought the movie was funny and entertaining. I guess if you have kids and you're in a relationship this movie will make you laugh. If you're not, then don't go see it u will not like.

Not a comedy - just had to rate it so people know to avoid it.

I found "40" funny and entertaining. The "gross-out" moments weren't anything too shocking, and I happily enjoyed watching it with my husband and his parents. A great way to spend an evening.

I enjoyed reading the exalted comments and reviews of this movie. Shows there is no way to measure people's taste. I think only those who emulate the life style expressed in the film would appreciate it. For myself, and I have a high level of tolerance, I found it unfunny, offensive and totally with any redemptive qualities. I left after 40 minutes and watched the end of the Jack Reacher movie so not a wasted night. However, my son enjoyed it which worries me more.

This was the worst movie I have ever seen. Plot was not there and the language was very bad--did not need to be that bad to get the point across. Some scenes were just bad--no apparent reason for them.

This is light and fluffy compared to Lincoln. It's not great, but good and there is some entertainment value in it.

Interesting movie. It definitely had a lot of comic moments - indeed, it was a set of comic vignettes. Yet, at the same time, it was also jarring in its depiction of marital strife and interpersonal conflict. Very realistic in many ways, though not necessarily funny, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Some points: most people that I know, when they turn 40, do not have the kind of hysterical reaction as the woman in this story. Her behaviour made me think that she was turning 60 from the way she carried on. Of course, I am not a woman and I'm not deeply insecure, so I may be missing some key elements. The children acted well, but it was jarring to see a 13 year old child let loose with an entire arsenal of f-bombs. Yes, I know lots of 13-year olds swear, but this was a bit much. From an economic point of view, the characters were extremely overprivileged and apparently unaware of how wealthy they really are. This economic tone-deafness suggests a really isolated worldview with little sense of what it means to live without excess.

This movie proved to be an easy, pleasant and true to life movie to watch. Although it tackles some sensitive issues about age, marriage and relationships it does so with light heartedness and kept me laughing in my seat. Time flew by!! A great movie for laughs and strongly recommended!!

Ok I never write comments about a movie but I have to for this one. I went with my girlfriend and it was so depressing. All they do in the movie is fight, yell and swear. Very little funny moments, don't think you are going to see a comedy or a feel good movie cause it's not!!! I wanted to leave after 30 min!!!

Worst movie ever. Foul language and sex scenes not funny at all. Tried to substitute foul language for humor. Most have hit a really dry spell in creativity.

Every other word is literally [F...]; sex is the prominent factor in this movie; some funny parts, but it overmasked with vulgarity; the Director's wife and two daughters star in it, and the F-bombs just keep flying from all of them. No storyline, no resolution... just a lot of crap that's unrelatable. I do not recommend taking any friends to this movie - you'll be embarrassed for choosing it.

I thought This is 40 fully embraced the image of a dysfunctional family. But, throughout the movie, you got the understanding that this movie has extremely mature subject and mature humour. This is 40 is the whole package, sad, funny, and mature. I do admit some scenes aren't needed.
