Beautiful cinematography, essence of Cirque du Soleil was captured beautifully!

I've seen a couple of the Cirque de Soleil live productions and I was hoping for a behind the scenes documentary style movie. Instead it was as though you went to the actual production but was missing the great feel of it being live. I felt the story line was very broken and didn't make sense for a while, the audience often was wondering what's going on. The spectacles are the only highlight of the movie. I wasn't a big fan of the movie effects (slow motion and close up) because I felt you missed a lot of the natural beauty of the acts that the performers were doing. And sadly I'm not a big Beatles fan so that music (and especially the lyrics) were ruining the whole show for me. Overall I would not go see this movie unless it was free and I had nothing else to do. I would rather pay for the actual live show as that is an event worth seeing at least once.

Love the visuals, but not a Beatles fan.

Magnificent. I was especially pleased with the format of familiar Cirque du Soleil presentations. The backgrounds and costuming are breathtaking!! BRAVO!!

Surprisingly, I wanted to get up and leave after about 15 minutes. Yes, the costumes and staging are phenomenal, and Cirque du Soleil is obviously packed with highly talented and trained artists. But the "story line" really lame, and the whole thing was very choppy. I perked up for a while when the Beetles songs started, and the scene with the remarkable trampolines (not really trampolines, but like trampolines) But beyond that, I was quite bored.

This movie attempted to piece together parts of several Cirque productions by concocting a story of a mortal falling in love with some being from the sky. An obvious ruse to involve aerialists. The story line was so weak as to be an intrusion on the filming of the actual performers. There was too much running around. One spectacular act that I saw live, was the revolving pendulum with a cage on each end with a man in each, causing it to swing. Fascinating and breathtaking but not enough time was devoted to it. Did 3D help? A little but no more than High Definition. It would have been better as a documentary.

I am a big fan of Cirque du Soleil and I have been seeing their produtions since I was a child. I was a bit hesitant going into this one, as their last big screen movie I had seen was Journey of Man and that was in an IMAX screen. I knew this one would be different as it told a more in depth story. It was absolutely amazing! The 3D effects were perfectly utilized. They pulled together various acts that I have not had a chance to see yet as they are all in the US and around the world - but it was a great opportunity to see the creativity and inventiveness of the Cirque. The story line was heartwarming and relatable, and the movie was completely spectacular. I recommend this to anyone looking to have an enjoyable night out with a friend or partner.

I went to see this with my daughter and we both left wondering what it was all about. Like anyone I can appreciate the athleticism of these performers. In fact they seem to do things that are impossible but obviously are not. With that said the story line was confusing, boring and uninspiring. This is something you watch at home on tv and say "Wow look what they can do". But to spend good money to see this in 3D was a bad idea. I am sure the real show is mesmerizing but this was not.

The movie was exactly what one would expect; especially if you have seen one of the Las Vegas Shows. I found the filming of this movie to be better than most movies I have seen. The use of the camera and the 3D photography was exceptional!

Great film! After seeing several live performances it was nice to see things from a different visual perspective. The detail was amazing in both form and costume. Cirque du Soleil always pleases, especially when you know how hard some of these acts actually are. It is easy to appreciate such brilliance and skill level. If you have a theatrical, dance or gymnastic background this film ranks right up there in perfection.

International magic with French flair and a touch of Dali from Cirque de Soleil captured in 3D by James Cameron of Avatar. Cirque fans will love it, and those who don't know Cirque can see what the fuss is about, Literally fantastic!

Not like seeing a Cirque show in person! Poor story line. Choppy - bits of different shows.

This movie drags in to many places. The dramatic conflict scenes are not at all dramatic and tend towards tedium. The live Cirque shows have the same problem and like this movie, they are about 45 minutes to long.

Visually gorgeous and beautiful music score. A must see especially for those who haven't had the chance to see the live show yet.

I enjoyed the 3D effects. The acrobats are fantastic; they are so in shape & strong. The costumes, make up, vivid colors & fantasy world over & in the Bellagio pool makes one feel like Vegas again. This is a cheaper version of viewing a Cirque du Soleil Show. I really enjoyed it even though I've seen many of its live shows in Las Vegas & in Ottawa.

Worth seeing if you have never been to a cirque live show. Too many slow motion shots take away from actual awe of live physical feats performed on stage. The 3D is ok, but if you bare not aligned perfectly you see overlap. The Cirque does not need 3D. Overall... go see the live shows... they are 1000% better than this movie.

James Cameron said "Is hard to impress people today". And I agree. The movie is slow, simple, boring and sometimes no sense. Ok... is about "CDS" and all is imagination, but come on, let's be honest, this production will be plying on HBO shortly. My 6 stars is because of 3D and the beautiful colors... that's it!

Honestly, I simply adore Cirque Du Soleil. The fact that a film was created using their spectacular artistry only makes me want to watch it even more.

It's visually impressive as expected but a few things disappointed me. First of all as much as I found the 2 actors (the girl and the boy that we see throughout the movie) very good acrobats, they are poor actors. The girls facial expressions looked so fake she almost seems robotic at times. There is no denying that the acrobatic numbers were stunning but there was too much time wasted with vaudeville interludes. On a more subjective note, I kept asking myself why they make such beautiful and athletic bodied humans look so ugly with overdone, clownesque makeup and very weird costumes. Sometimes too much is as bad as not enough. Freak or freakish are adjectives that kept popping up in my head! Also, as I had just seen Life of Pi in 3D where the immersion was total, I felt the 3D effect here was very weak at best. Overall I enjoyed the show but was expecting more. The decors are absolutely spectacular for the most part and some numbers are truly fascinating. Kudos to all the magnificent athletes who are a part of the Cirque du Soleil. They are the best in the world.

I simply adored this movie. Those who like/love Cirque du Soleil will no doubt feel the same way as I. Majestically beautiful and breathtaking, this movie is just short of a visual masterpiece.

For me the first 20 minutes of this film sucked, to much going on and the camera moved around at an irritating pace of angles. The music also bothered me at this point. I felt like leaving but thought "surely it will get better". It did. The rest of the movie was just shy of a musical and visual masterpiece. The talent of the performers is not to be belived. The score then gets so good you are in rapture for the duration. If, you are inclined to, go stoned.

Fantastic, breathtaking and very beautiful. I liked a lot the costumes, music, the professional athletes, specially Erica Linz & Igor Zaripov performance at the end, very magical. I think this is one of the perfect movies to see for the Holidays!

It was phenomenon, beautiful, breath-taking. I saw the "O" show in Vegas earlier this year, it was amazing, I will never forget about it. This is the best movie I've ever seen in my life.
