There was room for improvement. The guy who played Curt Connors was awesome! Didn't like how Tobey Maguire didn't reprise his role as Spider-Man. Sally Field ad Martin Sheen did amazing as Uncle Ben and Aunt May. It was much different than the original trilogy though. I wouldn't say it was better though. But for the next movie, I don't think Jamie Foxx fits Electro at all.

OVER-RATED. It's about time they give up on the Spider Man franchise or ask a director that knows what he is doing (like Christopher Nolan) to make it because instead of this new director remaking it into something better, he made spider man seem even lamer than before. Also the guy that plays spider man makes him seem very pathetic.

A very spectacular remake! I loved it, you'll love it, and the Academy Awards, should've loved it.

Interesting twist on the classic Amazing Spider-Man story. Chops to Garfield for his leading debut and good chemistry w/ Stone. Storywise, it's predictable and the occasional dull acting. Overall, it's a fun movie.

They have the casting right, but the story is not as strong as it should have been. Here's hoping that the next one will be even better.

Omg it was sooo amazing, saw it with my bffs we all thought it's amazing... I laughed, I cried, it was awesome. Best movie ever, a lot of your questions don't get answered but it's still amazing, I think they'll get answered in the 2nd movie.

Enjoyable. Not quite as good as the first two Spider-Man movies but better than the dreadful third movie. A couple parts of the story moved along a little too fast and conveniently for my liking but they were forgivable. There was one thing that was annoying in that Spidey's web shooters flash red when he uses them and that makes absolutely no sense as he'd give himself away if he were hiding in the dark but a minor quibble.

Overall this was a very good movie. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield did an amazing job in this movie. This movie did a great job at playing with your emotions. Funny, sad and dramatic. Of course this wasn't better than the original superhero series, but it is worth seeing. The only thing that I was dissapointed in, is some of the effects and how the "lizard villain" was made. In a couple of words this was a pretty good movie.

Summer box office recipe... nothing new, nice visuals. Getting tired of these Superhero movies, for a under 25 audience.

Do we really need another origin story? Nothing new to see in the newest spiderman flick. The two main leads are good and have good chemistry, but this doesn't save the movie, alas. The villain is (how?) boring. The special effects seem kinda bad... when spiderman is battling the lizard it really looks computer generated. A big disappointment.

We've seen it all before, only a few months ago, and this remake is not as good. Nothing original, same old, no surprises. Fantastic special effects, but it's hard to get into the story. Boring at times, I would have been happy to leave the theater half way. Unless you are 10 years old, don't bother.

It's difficult for me to objectively review this movie since I think it's entire existence is a sign of how shameless and unoriginal Hollywood is when it comes to milking beloved franchises for all they're worth. Before I start griping though I'll give it this; the acting was excellent and the movie was all around griping and exciting. That's why I gave it a 7. What baffles me is how similar it was to Sam Raimi's original. I was expecting this reboot to tie Spiderman in with the Avenger's universe or at least spin the series in a radically new direction, but no. I hate to see the excellent original series get truncated just to repeat the same steps without trying to add more lasting appeal to the franchise. At least this one has a distinctly different tone than the original, much more brooding and tied to reality (so much so that it isn't really the escapism I prefer in a Superhero movie, but still not a bad thing). P. S. stay after the credits.

Not what I was expecting! I only went because a friend insisted. I didn't think the new lead (Garfield) would be any good and I was loyal to the original actor (Maguire) but I was blown away! The chemistry between Peter and Gwen was amazing! I loved the back story and the build up. It wasn't all action packed like some people would prefer, but I thought it was well told, perfect intro to future movies.

Nice take for this new generation crowd but a bit too soon for a reboot. It was cool to see the classic spidey poses just like in the comics and a few added details. The CG wasn't that great and the conversion for 3D was a real eyesore, didn't feel natural. Hopefully the next one they do will be better but I'm not trusting my spidey-sens since they're buzzing like crazy warning me of a bad rebooted sequel.

On top of being an incredibly nauseating snoozefest. It was nothing more than a money grab. The kid playing spiderman needs acting lessons and the people who cast him including the people who approved this banal script should be blackballed. A really boring retelling of the first spiderman simply with a different villain, you only get to see for maybe 15 minutes. Bad direction, and the people who actually think that this monstrosity of a film was actually good, either rarely get out of the house much or are hardwired to their playstations or xboxes. Giving it a two out of ten rating was excessively generous of me.

Epic, 3d visual magic, special effects were the best main actors played their parts very well , the story is great and will go on for generations to come.

Really liked the movie, Ok story line. Had some memorable parts. Some scenes were very funny but 3D was a waste of money because there were no 3D effects so you could watch it without the glasses.

I like Andrew Garfield better than Toby M as Spiderman. I think this was the best of the Franchise so far. The back story is great. The only complaint is that during some of the fast action scenes, the CGI looked a bit cartoonish. This show needs to be seen on the big screen to get all it has to offer. Make sure you stay past the credits. Theres a GEM for true spider fans that you'll need for the next movie.

I loved this movie, the best superhero movie this summer. It didn't drag at all, unlike The Dark Knight at times. Andrew G. had the perfect amount of vulnerability and teenage awkwardness.

Great re-hash of the Spiderman movie franchise. This new spiderman was everything the old wasn't. Beautiful movie, see it in 3d you'll experience a sensation of vertigo as he leaps off buildings and web-slings around. Great use of his spidey powers and a great villain and its set up for a sequel!

See it if you must. Lots of nonsense. One example: no attempt whatsoever to explain his costume why he had so many of them how he could order it online and no one find out his identity et cetera et cetera ( good God are we supposed to believe that he made his own costume?! I hope not)

I saw my kid in Garfield, Playing a punk geek kid. So, I loved the role. I thought it was incredible. Loved the movie. Didn't think I would, but I did. I have never reviewed a movie before, but felt compelled to do so here. I see so much garbage now at the movies, when I am pleasantly surprised (like I was in Sherlock Holmes 2) I write about it. And I want to tell people. This is a good movie. Do not wait for DvD... it will not be the same. Have fun. You will love the kid.

This wasn't terrible, but, Garfield I find doesn't pull off the nerdy act like Maguire, and there was some humor in it, that just makes a movie silly. Other than that, the whole idea of the movie is much better it's just, I wish Maguire was still spider man. And the humor wasn't so silly. But not an awful movie. I enjoyed it, apart from the humor, superhero movies with humor just doesn't satisfy me. But oh well.

This 4th movie goes back as a 1st. They could've continued where the 3rd one left off even though a new actor has taken the role of Peter Parker / Spider Man. Most of the scenes were great. I could give this movie a better rating but I'd rather see a movie move forward and not "going back" so to speak. Garfield plays the role better than Maguire.

I wish this would of come out before (oh what the hell instead of) that fluff Raimi/Maguire collaboration/franchise. I much appreciated the grittier look and feel of the film. Garfield was a bit old to play this part however, even by Hollywood standards, he's 29.

Garfield did the closest Peter Parker impression humanly possible. Seemed like a real teenager at a unique crossroads in life. In action scenes and while web swinging he moves quickly and creatively like Spider-Man should. Web shooters are fast and really cool too, and they don't sound gross and weird. Good focus on the fact that Peter is a teenage genius who lost his parents. The villain could be done slightly better, if and when there's a sequel they should have more film time to improve that aspect (hopeful) I did however like the subtle hints of Dr. Conners back-story... Perfect mix of action and story and felt like an actual graphic novel with special effects. In the last 3 Spider-Man movies I didn't like the interpretation of the characters and I really didn't like the Spidy outfit, but in The Amazing Spider-Man the people acted more believable and Spider-Man's costume was awesome. Also, I'm glad he met Gwen Stacy first like he's supposed to instead of skipping right to Mary Jane.

This was not Peter Parker, this was a self-righteous MTV punk! Only for those who are addicted to video games. Another, all the kids are smart, and all the adults are clueless movies, aimed at the self-absorbed teen/young adult who can not see past the manufactured nonsense these companies churn out. They simply use the names of popular characters, and put in the personality they desire, to put across their world view. Example "Rise of the Silver Surfer" combined four different Fantastic Four stories, and didn't do justice to any of them. The whole thing was how evil America is for torturing prisoners. I loved the Avengers, because it updated the material, and was faithful to the original concept. Oh, by the way, Ed Wood would have loved the acting!!! This is the worst Spider-Man ever!!! It really blew chunks!!! First movie I wanted to walk out on in the first five to ten minutes!!! If you thought this was good, you'll probably think "Manos, the Hands of Fate" is a Masterwork. No wonder Stan Lee wore headphones, and turned his back to this movie!!! Wish I could have did the same! My friend went to the bathroom twice, and felt like he missed nothing!! For the undiscriminating only!!!

I liked the Amazing Spiderman movie because it came from the original comics for when Spiderman made his webbing instead of it coming naturally. For in the Amazing Spiderman movie I noticed that during part of the movie the makers did a 1st person screen during it and that made me like it a little bit. This was my comment for The Amazing Spiderman.

You have to see this movie!!! I saw it with my dad and grandfather and they both loved it. I must say that the first ones were better, but the cast did an amazing l job. Emma Stone did an one of the acts in the movie and played a believable role. I loved her in the help and I loved her in this movie to. Peter Parker was played wonderfully. Who ever casted this movie did an amazing job.

Ben never said his signature line "With great power, comes great responsibility". But it was pretty good as a thriller, with Spider-man fighting the lizard and Gwen Stacy at one point had to hid from him.
