An interesting study of a French lawyer whose career is a chronicle of independence movements in North Africa and the Middle East. It is a study of how his passion for justice, which started with defending the freedom fighters of the Algerian revolution, degenerated into justifying the defence of unsavoury characters like Carlos the Jackal and the Baader-Meinhof gang.
