I didn't read the book so I guess I am not as disspointed as some of the other viewers. I mean, the concept was good but I'm not sure it actually worked. This movie is a mixture of "Chronicles of Narnia" and "Harry Potter". There was action, adventure and life lessons through out the story which was great. Logan Lerman (Percy)is a cute kid, his eyes are an amazing shade of blue and I kept getting lost in them, I'm sure all the teenage girls love this guy! Every time I saw Kevin McKidd (Poseidon) on screen, I kept thinking he was going to scrub in because he's a surgeon on "Grey's Anatomy", it was hard to see him such a different character. Some parts were a little far fetched; the actors didn't seem old enough to be driving a car, gambling in Vegas, taking drugs and venturing across the USA on their own. All in all, it was ok, could have been much better - rental!
