I can't understand some of the negative reviews to splice. The ideas and themes of splice can be traced all the way back to mary shelley's frankenstein as this couple scientists play god. Splice comes off as a hybrid between h. g well's the island of dr moreau meets the bride of frankenstein with the sensibility of David croenenburgh's the fly. Splice lacks the moving pathos and tragedy of jeff goldblum as the fly but still packs a lesser emotional punch. This director has made three impressive sci-fi films in cube, cypher and splice.
