Great acting, a good story however this movie suffered from a low budget. It could have been more grandiose and a much better biopic if only for that. Too bad though because it was an overall compelling movie.

Very good movie. Great script and acting. Interesting Canadian history. The only bad part was that the entire movie had a blue-grey washed out look to it- hopefully that wasn't intentional. Worth seeing.

Canadian production about a Canadian bank robber in the 50's. Interesting characters; 3D wouldn't help the movie in this case, so the character portraiture is very important. Like a good old fashioned Paul Newman movie, sort of. Ending is realistic... Never heard of this robber character, but apparently he existed. Movie seemed a lot like US robber crazy movies of the same time period, but our guy was an ex-soldier who was fed up with the lack of empathy/respect from the locals after all the soldiers went through in Europe.

This movie is sooo good, way better than I had expected. Saw it at the advanced premiere and wasn't expecting much as I hadn't heard a lot about the movie and it's not played up like the other "Hollywood Blockbusters". Great role played by Scott Speedman and the other actors, movie flow was good, never slow or boring. There is a lot more than could have been done with this movie making it longer and more in-depth but the story didn't really NEED that, it was close to perfect. Highly recommended, took my 14 year old son to see it and he also really liked it.

Only half the movie it could've been. Too ordinary, lacking that badly-needed gloss of epic. Why the focus on other characters when the lead was already in danger of appearing pedestrian? Sad to see 15 years of work by the director-writer hit anything less than perfect. Edwin Boyd turns in his grave, begging for a better biopic to be made.

Local Canadian history shown with effective simplicity & accuracy. Much more than a bank robber... a complex individual tastefully demonstrated by a young director with a future. So often we paint a convict with a wide brush and overlook the person behind the moves, Morlando has recognized that human fault & captured it on film. Congrats to a new promising "man to watch".
