Forest Whittaker's performance is everything I expected--he certainly captured the "spirit" of Idi Amin. The fictional story of the young Dr. Helped to personalize the cruelty of that particular era. Fascinating to watch McAvoy evolve from a crass young doc, quite a performance on his part too. I remember the awful stories coming from Uganda in the seventies and this film certainly captured the essence of that time.
