Fantastic movie... unbelievable animation!

Went to see this movie last night 3 of us- me, my hubby and 7 year old son. We all enjoin it enormously. What a masterpiece. Absolutely needs to be watched on big screen in 3D. There is nothing I could say negative. Fantastic experience.

Feel like I've missed out on a series I never knew about before. After seeing movie, went home and ordered volume.

Awesome movie! Best 3D movie we had seen for a while!

It looks a little weird in the trailer, but once you see it, you'll love it!

Originally I though this movie would be horrible when I was forced to take my younger cousins to it but I was surprisingly wrong. I am 16 years old and really enjoyed the movie and so did the younger children. It has something for everyone and I would definitely see it again and recommend it.

I saw this movie at the IMAX 3D and it was fabulous! I'd go see it again and will certainly be buying it for my grandchildren.

You know, sometimes when you get older the past seems so far. I was invited to see Tintin in 3-D and then I was back 50 years ago. Mr Spielberg you gave me the best cure that any doctor has gave me yet. I red all the Tintin when I was young, in french. So, I hope I'll be around when the second one comes.

Very much a "boys' own" story. The animation is superb! Just a "fun" night at the movies!

Different than I thought it would be, but a good movie never the less.

So, I went and saw this movie again tonight. Even better the second time around. My friend and I were exhausted there is so much action! The 3-D works but I really don't like that it takes away from the brightness of colours. We look forward to part 2!

I really liked the Tintin comics, and was a little worried that the show wouldn't be good, but since we went to see it, I absolutely love it!! And we'll be getting it when it comes out on Blue-ray.

Great looking. Worth watching in 3D. Unfortunately the storyline wasn't interesting enough to hold even my nephews' attention. My nephew asked me when is this movie going to end Auntie?

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is one of the best movies I have ever seen, it brings the kid in all of us!

Very well done movie. The animation was as cool as can be and the story just got better and better. I never read Tin Tin when I was young but this movie turned me into a fan. Must see on the BIG screen.

Good, but crammed full of too much "stuff". 3-D dulls too many of the potentially very vibrant colors -- I removed the glasses several times to get a better result.

The Adventures of Tintin is like a trip down memory lane... the best way to put it would be to imagine National Treasure meets Indiana Jones in a Saturday morning cartoon! Wonderful, youthful storytelling! Full of the charm and wit of classic Tintin without all the non-stop action that seems to dominate most animated movies today. Having said that it still holds your attention and they are some truly breathtaking periods of exciting, adventurous thrills! Take the whole family to see this one, a real treat movie-goers!

It's good if you like adventures. But it didn't really make a lot of sense, good for kids, I think they wouldn't know it, but maybe why I don't like it is because of the other viewers in the stands. They were talking out aloud and making false accusations about the movie. WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER VIEWERS. But overal it was fine.

I didn't expect such a flop! I don't think it's a good idea to make a movie out of a "cartoon". Even for kids, it wasn't that interesting!

Great animation, Especially the hair like real. Great 3D, nothing is out of focus. Seeing Tintin and Snowy on screen brought all my childhood memory back. A must see for all ages.

If u watched the cartoon on tv in the 90's when u were younger there is no reason not to like this movie, great action and lots of laughs.

This movie is great for everyone - children, adults and fans of quality, clean if not sophisticated storytelling from a bygone era - when stories didn't have to include gratuitous crudeness and profanity or children speaking to parents like they were dirt and stupid, etc. - want to know where family breakdown happens? - examine children's watching of stories that depict children being smarter than their parents and disregarding their wisdom and authority that is followed by depictions of kids being rude to them... media affirms children's lack of respect to/for their parents, not hormones at teen time! - and I give this movie points for not being that kind of movie - it's safe for kids impressionable minds! Anyways, this movie reflects a time when societies were not simpler but had community standards and a true sense of class. This movie is good storytelling with the mysteries and characters as the compass that drive this flick! - not how crude and anti-social the characters can be. Imagery is amazing too, however I saw it in 3D and I do recommend the 2D over the 3D - for some reason 3D just doesn't cut it for me in many movies - it's nice and all that but what do I need it for? I felt this flick carried its own with a great story line and incredulous animation and above the bar writing, editing and directing. Hmmm, if only I could give it a 9.5 I think I take away -. 5 point for the lackluster 3D that I really couldn't care less if it was there or not - for me, it seems that often the 3D actually seems to get in the way of the movie I'm watching by breaking my concentration that I'm otherwise engrossed in?!? Hmmm...

This movie was ok, but for some reason didn't manage to keep my undivided attention throughout. I would watch it again on dvd to form a better opinion but it is worth checking out.

I LOVE Tintin, read all the books as a kid, and read them again with my two boys. This version is far in style from the books, which I think the 1991 TV series captured much better. That said, to NA audiences who don't know Tintin, there's rich characters, involved plot, beautiful "cinematography" and 3D effects. I found several scenes over-the-top and too hollywood (harbor cranes, Castafiore chase), but I really liked Jamie Bell as Tintin and Andy "Gollum/King Kong" Serkis as Captain Haddock.

Am a huge fan of the french books and enjoyed the cartoons, not a fan of this movie at all. Ridiculous amount of property damage, never-ending fist fights and drawn-out gun fights (a bazooka, really!?) mangled multiple books together and made up the rest. Captain Haddock seems like a completely drunk selfish idiot in this movie, not like the kid-friendly, positive adventure stories I remember. Good animation though, I enjoyed the 3D. That's all.

Great movie a should-be-seen. Great story, the characters look realistic and a good lesson. Sometimes a bit unrealistic but still a 5 star movie.

Since knowing this movie was out a couple of months ago in the UK and brought up with the books, I have been telling my wife and six year old, how this movie was a must see. How disappointed I was, wife also. Could not wait until it ended. Our son did say he really enjoyed it. But with the fact that he was restless throughout and left his seat on a couple of occasions tells me otherwise. Not the case when he watched the likes of Puss & Boots for instance. When he was totally engrossed. Not Spielberg's best & we won't be back to see the continuation movie associated. PS:- Not worth the $3 extra for 3D.

Great movie, very good animation, lots of action! Lots of elements from the comics. I prefer watching the movie in French, so that the characters' names don't change.

Great movie that gets better and better. Enough action to keep it moving and very family friendly. I thought it moved too quickly with stilted dialogue at the beginning, but it settled into a nice pace. With clever dialogue and intrigue, it was easy to overlook the very predictable parts.

Americans don't understand Tintin - Finalement, les ricains ne comprennent pas Tintin. It's entertaining but it strays from the original Tintin. So it looks somewhat like Tintin, but it does not manage to capture the Tintin spirit. Or maybe I am overreacting over an emotional childhood set of values! Anyway, I enjoyed the cartoons much more.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
Well I think this movie if okay, I think the start is slow but after a while there starts to be action, the problem with the movie is that there is very little action compared to the boring start. I think they could of made the movie twice as better if they put more action in it. For the second movie I will definitely rent it rather than watch it at the theaters. The reason I know there will be a second movie, because at the end they find another clue to the treasure, then it ends.

I thought it was a very entertaining film and it was nice to see a classic comic strip character on the big screen. The story was very fast paced, maybe even a little too fast to be believable. For people who don't want young children seeing guns and alcohol then you may not want to bring them to this but I had no issue bringing my 10 year old there. Definitely a worthwhile flick.

Animation: Excellent, maybe a little too lifelike as comes off as live action at times. It was okay in 3D but hate the genre. It was also a tad too long for the kids but overall a Spielberg production that suits him well.
