Ouf... I went it into this with zero expectations. I had heard absolutely nothing about the film beforehand so I was ready for anything. Music-wise, it's a cool blend of Puerto Rican and New Yorkian rythmn, along with many racial and family ties that connect the two regions together. But ultimately, the movie fails to be truly inspirational. I think the biggest problem is that the main character is unlikable. From stealing rims to an overly jealous boyfriend, it's hard to identify with him. Overall, it's a passable movie and probably worth a watch. But it's far from being anything special.
