I really enjoyed this movie. The actors were phenomenal in their roles. You could really feel their joy & laughter, pain & longing. The cinematography was really engaging. I definitely recommend this movie in you're in for a true romance.

Well the ending certainly leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth but otherwise the acting is phenomenal and the movie is certainly worth your time. A love story that doesn't try to be idealistic or too overtly romantic, just a love story in very real terms.

I really liked this film. It's more than just a chic flic. It captures the emotional states and stresses of the couples relationship very well. The casting was excellent.

I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this movie since I haven't heard any good review. But after watching it, I would definitely have to say that it's worth a watch. It's kind of slow and has a bit of ups and downs but I still felt I could connect to the characters. They seemed real people with real emotion and that's what good movies should be about.

I have to say that I was disappointed by this movie. Having seen the trailer, I could not wait to watch the film. However, it was really not as good as I expected. There were a lot of beautiful moments and some magnificent shots, but the overall was not as good. The story, which sounded very interesting was not that well developed. The part where they meet and fall in love it lasts like 20 minutes, which I think should be a good 45 minutes for us to really feel it and get into the film. Another detail that bothered me was that the filmmakers don't seem to know the existence of tripods, which annoyed throughout all the film. And one last thing, I won't say why because I don't want to spoil the movie for those who want to see it, but the ending is TERRIBLE. And I mean it, it really is TERRIBLE.

$$ best picure and best actress @ sundance film fest. This film had me lookin' @ my watch thinking is this gonna end. The story had me lost all the way through. Looks more like madonna's ray of light video. The cast seems go with emotions no strong effort. The direction had me wondering is this best the writers come with?

Great acting, but too dragged out and hate a vague ending.

I really enjoy this movie, the story was touching and the actors were first rate. I was a bit surprised by the ending but looking back it fit perfectly...

This is another movie about love, committment, and marriage. Even though the characters are young, all ages could relate to this movie and what the characters go through. This movie reminds us that our love and feelings, no matter how strong, are often confined to a specific time and place. And once the time has passed and the places have changed, (and the characters have different life experiences), the love and feelings are never the same again. That is why and how people drift apart and so many marriages and relationships fail. Was there a happy or sad ending to this movie, audiences could judge for themselves according to their frame of mind and outlook on life. There is no definitive answer. All the characters in this movie are likeable and attractive, so that is a plus for this movie.

It has the base but is lacking in chemistry and development of the relationship.

Some people say that this movie deals with young (college age being 'young', I suppose) love, but I think it is more about love in general, and in particular how important for a relationship's success that both partners be equally committed and willing to do what is needed to make it work. Without going into too many specifics, this movie shows one partner (Anna) as willing to do all the sacrifices required in order to be reunited with her American love, after immigration complications prevents her from simply going back to the US to live with him. Jacob is more reluctant, despite having a new career that would lend itself very easily to relocation. Even the topic of marriage, which should seem like a given for a couple so in love, and which could potentially solve their problems, seems like an uncomfortable topic for him (but not for Anna) In the end, this movie is a good portrayal of the efforts needed to make a relationship thrive, let alone a long distance one. But mostly, what I got from it was that both partners need to feel the same depth of love, and be willing to do what it takes to make their couple work (without changing oneself drastically to be loved by the other, as it was hinted that Anna might have been doing with an 'in between' boyfriend), otherwise the inevitable changes in life and natural evolution of a relationship can risk making even a perfect romance fade. This said, the acting was understated but fresh, and "Anna" was convincing."Jacob" was efficient too, his ambivalence was nicely conveyed. Anna's supportive parents (even when they were uneasy with what was happening) were well cast, and their reactions felt authentic. I wish that the movie had been a little longer, to develop certain aspects of the story and draw us in more (in particular, the 'separation' periods and the time with 'surrogate partners', and the emotional progression/questioning during those many months) To be honest, I expected more of this movie, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Ever since I saw this movie I haven't been able to get it out of my head. It had me laughing, it had me crying, I want to see it again, as soon as possible. Definitely a movie you should go and see, I've been telling all of my friends to see it too.

This happens to be a very different kind of romance story that deals with a serious situation when it comes to immigration issues that was not took into situation and had been not renewed and caused problems in the relationship. Of course when one is lonely and is waiting for important details toward his girlfriend he had no choice but to go out with other women although they enjoyed their relationship but that there was alot of complication and it was certainly a mess up relationship on account of the immigration problems. I would imagine the person who wrote this has seen similar problems or heard these kind of issues from the past to get this story to become some sort of realistic.

A good movie; I liked the story and the two young actors, very talented. I think this is a great way of telling people who fall in love so quick and so deep that things are going to change and it's not going be the same every day, and that nothing is forever, things are temporary! People change too!

Good exploration of the complexities of modern relationship. A nice, quiet, honest, love story.

Beautifully filmed and exquisitely truthful. Heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once.
