The best movie of 2011. This is Martin Scorsese's loving tribute to the origins of motion pictures, employing the modern techniques of today. The 3D effects are much better utilized here than in "Avatar". I think fans of "steampunk" will love this film. Also, it is similar to "The Prestige". You may remember the actor who plays Hugo as the doomed hero of "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". Although in a supporting role, Chloe Moretz from "Kick-Ass" and "Let Me In", continues to grow as a actress. However, I do not think that non-intelligent children will appreciate this story because it is too slow, too serious and there is no juvenile-styled comedy.
