Comes close to almost being funny many times, but this is a slow comedy that never takes off. Despite being aware of all the references the movies makes to past events in Quebec, I found the whole thing came off as very amateurish. Couldn't wait for it to end. One of the worst québécois films I have ever seen.

This is full of good intentions, it wants to denounce the [...] fat cats that are putting the whole society in full misery, it is pathetic how flat and boring it is. Guy A. Lepage is really not an actor, he is surrounded by all the best actors there is, so he looks worse for it, there is no timing in the humor they try to put there, a lot of impressive visuals with the camera, but it all falls FLAT, this looks like a first idea of a script, then it needs to be written properly, there is this little moment where his big wife gets plastic surgery to become a supermodel, a supermodel that is a bit stiff to move that was funny, but lost in the whole film, really pathetic.

L'Empire Bossé is a good movie; funny, smart and very entertaining. Guy A. Lepage and the rest of the cast did great job acting. I loved how the story reflects our own Quebec scandals. If you want to laugh and get away from your problems, watch it.
