This just isn't a good movie -- sorry. There is potential in a film about bird watching but it isn't realized here. This is obvious when you recognize that the story could occur over a pastiche of marble collectors, spoon collectors, elevator riders. The birds are nothing more than a hobby -- they aren't explored and written into and through the characters in any interesting way. So all you have left is three guys traveling around trying to see things. IS there a lesson -- if there is, I can give it to you in a sentence: you'd be better off if you stayed home. That's probably true for seeing this movie too. Three good actors try to liven it, but you might as well be pumping electricity into a dead frog's leg -- the result would be more exciting. The only redeeming thing about the film is that it did not use anything morally offensive in the service of entertainment. Sad to say, that being the case, that it also did not entertain.
