I found 3 needles to be a great movie. I was puzzled at first, not sure what was really happening. Some normal folks living their lives. Then I realized the problems they had, financial, moral, physical, emotional... It was very sad and moving. The ending was in touch with the truth of most peoples lives, the outcome of each life was very enlightening. Very well put together.

Featured at the International Film Festival, this is a visually stunning and emotion provoking experience. I loved watching these three stories that took me around the world.

Thom Fitzgerald just keeps growing as an insightful and highly creative director. His social commentary in this movie is smart, challanging and entertaining. No beating the audience over the head here. Stockard Channing is amazing. This movie is worth seeing if just to watch her. The three parts of the movie intertwine beautifully. The actin in the Asian segment is rich and very touching, especially the child actor lead. The only part that keeps this movie from becoming a 10 is the South African segment. The lead part is a real stretch. The young nuns street savy doesn't resonate, Olympia Dukakis is patronizingly Hollywood characature and Lucy Liu verges on comical. Too bad, because this movie really is a must see in spite of that.

Very good movie, realistic and tragic, ending that is very appropriate, cinematography could have been better, sometimes moments of corniness, but in general a must see, acting is decent.
