I never cared for Josh Brolin, and certainly not his father, but he pulls this movie to a place where all will enjoy. Everyone in the movie does an excellent job. Though it is kinda "out there" it has two or three, maybe even four of the funniest (I know!) scenes ever in a movie of this kind. It's different.
