The movie was very intense! Jennifer Lawrence did a great job portraying her character. Compare to the book, the movie left out a lot of details that I felt was important and should have been included. Overall, the movie was enjoyable and entertaining.

Although it always reminds me of that Japanese movie, Battle Royale, it has its own approach of the story. Setting of such a game rule is easy to bring controversal topic and make people think what will they do if they are in such a situation. The movie paints that emotion into some kind of complicated feels. Well done, very entertaining. The only disappointing is that other 21 tributes are too labelled. Maybe the movie has not enough time to characterize too many.

It. Was. A-w-e-s-o-m-e... I really enjoyed it!!! I thought that sometimes the camera was too close up and they changed some parts from the book. Other than that it was very good!!!
| 10/10 | roxanne-fields@ - 4 reviews 16.7.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I've read the book series and it lived up to everything I thought it to be and more. Stunning.
| 9/10 | madison.kent66@ - first review 15.7.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Not as good as the book and leaves out some of the funniest parts in the book, but a thrilling and amazing movie still. This must see movie is fast paced and always keeps you on edge. But make sure you read the book before you see the movie. This movie was designed for the fans of the books, revealing what you would only notice if you've read the book. Read the book then see the movie.

It was so good. I highly recommend it if you somehow haven't seen it!

It was such a great movie. It is very much a must see movie. Sooo go now gogogogogogogogogo!!!

LOVED IT! Of course, still not as good as the book, but it was still great. I would recommend reading the book first, (which is very good by the way) that way it will be easier to understand, and you know what's coming next. So read the book, and go see it! You won't regret it!

Great cinematography and story line in general! Highly recommend it!
| 9/10 | munashumbleopinion@ - 2 reviews 9.7.2012 |
Amazing movie. I have read all of the books and I read the first book before I saw the movie. I thought it was even BETTER because I read the book. This movie was excellent and if I could I would rate it higher than a 10.
| 10/10 | teampeeta@ - first review 9.7.2012 - age: 13-17 |
There were obviously copied elements of Running Man and Logan's Run in this movie, both of which were better. If you're not a fan of (or haven't read) the Hunger Games books and no longer under 30 years of age, I suspect you'll wonder what the fuss is all about.
| 6/10 | richardstoller@ - 22 reviews 8.7.2012 - age: 50+ |
Movie was okay... didn't rock my world... but had its tender moments, and moments where I was on the edge of my seat... worth seeing what all the hullabaloo was about.
| 5/10 | colleenklock@ - 27 reviews 8.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Tepid is probably the best word to describe it. Not horrible but nothing very special. The plot is borrowed and has been done better before. I guess if you're a twelve year old girl, you'd eat this stuff up but everyone else needs to give pause and maybe just watch The Running Man or Battle Royale instead.

Okay, so I watched The Hunger Games like 2 weeks after it came out, it was a pretty good movie, but I had my expectations high, so, it was disappointing, but overall, it was a great movie, & it had just the perfect timing for everything. I loved it, even thought my expectations whereunto fulfilled.
| 9/10 | yolo.@ - first review 8.7.2012 - age: 1-12 |
It has much detail and action parts in it and that's what I like.
| 10/10 | precarf@ - first review 7.7.2012 - age: 1-12 |
It was the best movie ever and I think for the people who like fighting should go see it!!! I don't usually like that type of movie, but that is the only one I liked. So... I very much recommend watching the movie... Hope you enjoy it!!!

This is the best movie in the whole wide world and I could watch it a trillion bazillion times. I have pre-ordered the movie so I will be one of the first to get it. I'm so happy that it was made into a movie, it is truly the best ever and can't wait to see it again and again, cause I have seen it 3 times, about to be 4, so it was great!!! Can't wait for the next 2.

Amazing is the only word to describe this movie. I've read all the books, and I saw this on opening day. Dramatic, exciting, funny, with just a touch of romance. A must see movie.
| 10/10 | fuciarelli@ - 6 reviews 6.7.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I seen it twice in theatres. A little long but I enjoyed it BUT I didn't read the book so for me it was good. Those who read the book first may be a little disappointed.

I was kind of bored and felt it lacked something. Predictable. I didn't read the book, and really didn't have any expectations, but to me, the hype behind the premise, seems a little over the top.

I love it, my heart was pounding when she was running away from the fire and how they represented the tracker jackers, amazing.
| 10/10 | lauralos10@ - first review 3.7.2012 - age: 1-12 |
Being in the mid-age category, I'm surprised more adults didn't give this film a higher rating. It was not only brilliant cinematography, but the acting and storyline were compelling. Better than anything that Twilight 'teen angst' could conjure up. I could believe society heading in this direction... perhaps it is a sign of things to come.

Awesome!!! I love all of the drama in the movie and when Rue died it was so sad! I would totally go and see it again! ;D
| 10/10 | carbarweb@ - 2 reviews 2.7.2012 - age: 1-12 |
It was very close to the book so l was surprised. I am impressed with the scenery and the amazing portrayal of the actors, even the ones with lesser parts. Also reflective and hopefully not predictive. Makes one wonder if we are really headed to that kind of future where instead of evolving, we are actually stepping back to brutality and insensitivity.

| 9/10 | iangrimes23@ - 6 reviews 30.6.2012 - age: 18-25 |
The movie follows the story in the book quite well. The casting is good and the story is meaningful. It's written for an adolescent audience but if adults just relax and avoid being too critical, they will also enjoy this movie. (Besides, it's always good to be in on something that your teens are excited about...)

This is probably one of the best movies I saw in the past year. I read all the books and can't wait for the sequels!
| 10/10 | rugsniffer@ - first review 29.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I didn't read the books, but I was pleasantly surprised how good this was for adults. Not sappy or cheesy like other teenage fiction, and a strong female lead.
| 8/10 | elizabethwoyce@ - 38 reviews 28.6.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Big fan of the book series before the movie came out, the movie did the book justice in my opinion, yes they toned down a lot of the violence to get a lower rating so that younger kids could see it and they'd make more money, I expected that. The movie was really good though, had its cheesy moments, but for the most part it was great and followed the book pretty closely.

A very close match to the book. My new favorite movie. The actors were casted perfectly. It made me want to change the actions of our nation, that could be us in a hundred years.

One of the best films ever made and sadly likely an accurate depiction of where this country is headed! Corruption and Evil currently rule behind the scenes and if we don't all ban together who knows where will end up... Hunger Games? perhaps! It's really not that far fetched when you think about it.
| 10/10 | lhyrasilvertongue@ - first review 23.6.2012 - age: 36-49 |

| 10/10 | leenamn10@ - 3 reviews 23.6.2012 - age: 1-12 |
This movie is AMAZING! This and Brave are my favourite movies of like all time. I wouldn't really recommend this (or Brave) for kids younger than me because of violent scenes and some language even though they only swear like two times and there not that bad of swears. I'm reading the third book right now so I've read the second book so I can't wait for the second movie to come out, but it's going to be a MORE for more mature audiences. This movie is really sad at some parts and I did cry. Lol. It's really action packed, I couldn't look away. I would recommend 12 and up because of content and they would understand it better than any other ages. Great movie :D

It was amazing! Incredible actors, beautiful scenery, and it matched the book series perfectly. I have read Suzanne Collins' masterpieces, and the movie met my expectations completely! I loved it! My favourite movie!

I saw this movie with my grandaughter and we both were entertained, she read the book (she's 11) and I've just started to read the book. They do a good job in following the story and a better job in the visuals. You'll keep thinking about the movie for days and days.

This movie blows you away. Every minute something unexpected happens. They stayed very true to the book and they chose excellent actors and actresses. I don't believe it's as gruesome as some people think because they had a way in both the book and the movie to explain the violence but not gross you out at all.
