Even though it is predictable and fable-like, I so enjoyed it. The scenery was breath-taking. The movie is seen through the eyes of young Tomas and we see how he finally finds a happy home. It is a tear jerker. It somehow feels pure and beautiful. The actors who play Maire, Alex and Tomas are beautiful to look at too. (I would definitely say "chick flick" to this one) This movie brings the pristine beauty of a rural Irish fishing village to the screen. No matter how "urban" you think you are, you will think "I would love it here."
