This movie left me with mixed feelings. I learned a lot about the story of Hypatia and about the burning of the library at Alexandria (although I realize that this highly fictionalized) The visuals and the spectacle were very well done. Rach Weisz was excellent, but the movie felt awkward and dated in many ways. Its themes about religious dissent and the pettiness and pomp of religion are relevant today and putting it the context of the massiveness of the entire solar system was effective. There were many parts of the movie where actors seemed miscast and the movie felt stilted.
