They tried too hard. The camerawork is grossly overdone, the dialogue appears verbose yet stagnant, and Colin Firth acts brittle and contrived. The grief is very unconvincing, despite the fact that it makes up the entire movie. (The grieving do not feel self-entitled and slighted, as I feel Firth interpreted the role.)
