Really enjoyed this homage to Steven Spielberg. Movies like Stand by Me, Close Encounters, and Raiders can never be duplicated because of the times in which they were made and watched. Super 8 has aspects of all of these films plus a few more and makes for a fun ride, and at times a pretty scary one. I must have jumped at least 3 times in this movie and did they turn the sound up intentionally, crazy loud. Yes there are some cheesy moments but that ads to the film as much as it detracts. Overall a very good effort and worth the $12 to see.
