I love Clint Eatwood as a director. I love Morgan Freeman as an actor. The two work well together but this movie falls flat for me even with all its grandiose epic style scenes and great soundtrack. Matt Damon is practically unaudible with his accent and the message of forgive and forget get lost in the shuffle. Unlike Million dollar Baby where we get the "this is not a sports movie" motto, this one feels like a sports movie and in the end, is a sports movie and not about racial tension.
