I went with an open mind because I hadn't seen the animation/cartoon it was based on. A big mistake on my part, it was really difficult to sit through. The directing was absolutely atrocious. The villain commander jao (sp? ) was such so terribly acted that I prayed that his inevitable death on screen would happen more quickly than it did - it's pretty sad when you are praying for the death of the film's antagonist not because you think he's evil, but because his acting is so annoying and painful to watch. The hero was also ill chosen as was most of the cast. I feel terrible for the cast all of whom I'm sure did the best that they could. I have to say that it's good to see a really terrible film once in a while as it makes you appreciate good cinema all the more. Poor m night shamalamadingdong, how does this guy continue to get financing for his projects?! I mean can you ride one great film in your career for that long?
