I loved the story line of the movie and it was a very emotional and romantic film.

This has to be the most realistic/honest relationship between people. Good acting, storyline, mystery/suspense! I just got so involved with this moving story.

This was without a doubt the worst movie I have seen in a long while. It hits all of the cliches (even finding a way to work in the typical "lovers riding the merry-go-round" scene). I suspect that most of the ridiculous events in this movie stem from the fact that the script tries to squeeze and contract the book in a short text, causing the close proximity of these happenings to be completely unbelievable. Complete and utter nonsense, where this woman is glorified for acts of love when in fact they are acts of bizarre cowardice. No good explanation is ever given as to why she did not leave her husbanc in the first part of the affair. Religion, love, laziness? Or simply an excuse for melodrama of the worst kind. The Young and the Restless seems tame in comparison. STICK TO THE SOAPOPERAS IF YOU LIKE THIS STUFF...

That's what I call love!!!! No shallow feelings, everything is so deep and realistic.... it gives a beautiful definition of love.... just go and see it... you'll find a bit of yourself in that movie.

This is a great film, a trigic love story. Once again Ralph Fiennes gives it his all. What a brilliant actor. Julianne Moore is also magnificant. Greene should write more novels like this one.

An excellent film. Has a bit of everything, love, romance, drama. Don't take my word for it, go see it with your lover.

Ralph Fiennes knows his craft and proves it once again in this film. The movie tackles adultery with a refreshingly religious slant. There is nothing quite wrong with the film, but it isn't the best of the year. As much as Julianne Moore's performance in this film has been praised, she is hardly the reason for heading to the theatre in the cold.

I thought they weren't doing movies like this anymore: a tragic love story with a theological approch. I wouldn't recommend it to a young audience, not because of the sex scenes, we see a lot more than that in many movies but because of the slow pace of the film. You have to listen to every word to totally enjoy Graham Greene's poetry. The acting is superb, Ralph Fiennes delivers another magnificent performance as an atheist who will become a believer at a terryfying cost. Julianne Moore, his mistress and Stephen Rea's wife, is also perfectly cast, this is one of the best american actress at the moment, she doesn't need to overplay to be believable. Rea is very touching specially when he learns about his wife's unfaithfullness. Neil Jordan caught on film all the intelligence of Greene's book, a lot better than the 1955 version.
