This is one of the best films I've seen this year. Maybe I'm a bit biased, as I love musicals anyway, but this was such a treat to watch. Zeta-Jones really shines in her role and shows off her multiple talents - acting, singing and dancing. I only wish she had more screen time but that's mostly saved for Zellweger. She quite impressed me too and her voice is stronger than I had expected. Roxie is an interesting character and Zellweger manages to make her sympathetic to the audience, even though she is entirely selfish to the core. I was a little disappointed by Gere's singing but at least he looked like he was having a marvellous time. Also of note is Queen Latifah's performance. I've never seen her act - or sing, for that matter - and she excels at both. The cinematography and overall style of the film is fabulous, making you feel like you've dived right into another world... one of glitz, greed and corruption. I haven't handed out many perfect scores in my reviews, but this film deserves it.
