A movie rental for sure. Not too bad and it was nice to see the relationship between mother and son. Enjoyed it although it was a little on the dry side.

Nice to see Barbra Streisand again. Was great as the nagging, lovable mother. Entertaining.
| 9/10 | john_hum@ - 28 reviews 13.3.2013 - age: 50+ |
Touching and funny. Shows us a Streisand we never knew. Illustrates the struggle of a one-parent family. Relaxing.
| 7/10 | abba.lotus790@ - 37 reviews 6.3.2013 - age: 50+ |
I laughed more at the preview for this movie than I did through the entire movie. What a disappointment!
| 5/10 | drummonds99@ - 2 reviews 6.2.2013 - age: 50+ |
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I don't have a son, just a daughter of 40 years old! Enjoyed both performances.
| 7/10 | lindalooo@ - 3 reviews 18.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
Two shallow characters go on a boring road trip together. Nothing about this story makes it worth telling... just stereotypically predictable from start to finish.
| 3/10 | hannah@ - 10 reviews 18.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
Genuinely funny, and believable as a mother-son relationship. I liked how I recognized each actor as very much themselves, and the evolution of the movie story line was great. Heartwarming, funny, unexpected, this movie deserves a wider audience.
| 8/10 | pmason@ - 5 reviews 17.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
Trust me when I tell you, this movie is so not worth the money or two hours of your time. There may have been some humorous lines but in my opinion, not delivered in a humorous way. No chemistry between Barbara Streisand and Seth Rogen. The idea for the movie was good and could have been funny but the script was weak. With a theatre full of people, only a few would giggle at what was supposed to be funny. My guess is that would be from people who perhaps have a similar mother/son relationship and could relate. If you really like Barbara Streisand and want to see her in a film again, wait for the DVD. It should be out soon in the $5 bin.
| 3/10 | moodygirl90@ - 64 reviews 17.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
A good movie for what it is... lighthearted, entertaining, funny, non- award contender, relaxing, not thought provoking... all of which is the intent of this movie. Really good chemistry between the two leads. If you want a change of pace, go see this "chick" flick.
| 7/10 | carolmackinnon@ - 16 reviews 16.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
It is light and funny and while it's not difficult acting, Streisand is a natural for her role. It's an uplifting film to be enjoyed.

Very good and well done this is reality of life of everyday.

Well, I guess it depends on your age. I absolutely loved this feel good, light hearted movie. I, for one, laughed out loud and really enjoyed this.

Was a pleasant movie for a couple of old gals to see.
| 7/10 | ssavels@ - first review 13.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
The movie was very boring. Corny jokes and bad script, not worth watching even if movie is free.
| 1/10 | oilers383@ - 5 reviews 12.1.2013 - age: 13-17 |
Just terrible. Nothing else needed to be said. If you are looking for a comedy, stay home and get something worth watching.

Just a nice heartwarming comedy... what a refreshing change! Mom will completely get it...

See this movie on the big screen, if you're a huge Barbra Streisand fan, like me. Good chemistry between Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen. The mother/son relationship was realistic. At times, I was laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes.
| 7/10 | wschow@ - 10 reviews 9.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
I thought it was heart warming with bits of comedy. A great 'I love you mom' movie. 2 thumbs up.
| 8/10 | nicolebhere@ - 3 reviews 9.1.2013 - age: 18-25 |
Thought the chemistry between Barb and Seth were good and quite believable as mom and son. I enjoyed both characters' quick one liners and the story ending.
| 7/10 | karen_lett@ - 361 reviews 7.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
This is a cute movie! A bit far-fetched but cute... it was simple, the content was fun and not trashy like the last movie I just saw...
| 8/10 | dgardengrl@ - 23 reviews 6.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
Took a while but this one actually grew on me as it went along. Seth and Barbara had that chemistry that made this one work.

Great family fun! Streisand and Rogen are a great duo. We thought it was better than /Guilt Trip/.

Excellent movie! A must see for mothers (and dads) to see with their older siblings; lesson to be learn from this movie for parent and siblings.

It was the greatest movie ever, great actors. Best funny movie ever! It had the whole theater laughing and clapping and cheering lol :)<3 love it :) [...] I say go see it :)
| 10/10 | mbreunig@ - first review 5.1.2013 - age: 13-17 |
We absolutely loved this movie!! Laughed so hard. I can't imagine it being cast with anyone different. Streisand and Rogan were perfect and certainly didn't disappoint. I still giggle when I see the trailers on TV.

A nice feel good movie about a son and his mother. I was happy to go see it with my mother as a night out for her and was not worried about her being offended. We both laughed and had a good time. There were a few things that reminded us of our own relationship and were able to relate to the story in that way. A great movie to sit on the couch and relax to but not something you need to see at the theater.
| 7/10 | jasonk1971@ - 2 reviews 4.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
Boring script. Only a few funny moments in entire show.
| 5/10 | scothawes@ - first review 3.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
Not great, but certainly worth seeing. This movie is getting a bad rap... I loved it (not huge love) but nonetheless... I laughed, a teared up and smiled a lot! Really, what else do we want for entertainment?
| 7/10 | bubaloo@ - 9 reviews 3.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
This film misses the mark completely and is very disappointing for those of us who love BS as a singer and an accomplished actress (Funny Girl, Hello, Dolly!, The Owl and the Pussycat, The Way We Were, Funny Lady, Evergreen, Meet the Fockers, ) among others. The two of them Seth and Barbra seem like they just met and it is very uncomfortable and this does not lend itself to comedy very well. It could have [been] sooo much better.

We took our 27 year old son, he had a blast and so did we. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Go see it with your grown kids, they can never complain about you ever again, I give it a 8.
| 8/10 | myeddie123@ - 21 reviews 2.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
It was slow to get started, but it had a great ending, and I'm glad we went. Streisand is always wonderful.

Movie was pretty interesting to watch how things turn out in the end. Overall it had many funny scenes that make you laugh.

OMG this movie is so good funny, heart wheeling, it's amazing, a must see go see now.

96 mins of my life I will never get back, would rather watch paint dry.
| 2/10 | scottdaudlin@ - first review 1.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
It was hilarious! Both Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand were great together. This movie was really a relaxing and enjoyable one! Any of the poor reviews are from those who are not old enough to be able to put themselves in the position of the actors and the roles they played. Loved it and could relate to it!!
| 9/10 | mew53@ - 23 reviews 31.12.2012 - age: 50+ |
The Guilt Trip doesn't exactly stand out as the greatast or funniest comedy out there, but it is a solid feel-good comedy, perfect for the holiday season.
| 8/10 | zero122@ - 3 reviews 31.12.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Loved it, very funny. I'm a big fan of Barbra Streisand, she's a lady with multiple talents. The story was great, relationship between a mother and a son, very interesting. Besides that it deals with lots of other issues. Makes you laugh, cry and think. Glad I saw it.
| 9/10 | greco64@ - 401 reviews 31.12.2012 - age: 36-49 |
It dragged and had no great content. It bombed.
| 2/10 | justanopinion@ - first review 31.12.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Not a lot of laugh out loud moments but definitely reliable chuckles. You'll want to phone your mom after.
| 7/10 | chrisjam98@ - first review 30.12.2012 - age: 26-35 |
This movie was trying to be funny but it just was not. Very disappointed and not even worth renting if you ask me. It was dry and just another so so comedy.
| 1/10 | brentturville@ - 57 reviews 30.12.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Was a terrible movie, bad storyline, plot, not funny at all. Waste of money.
| 1/10 | hollyfischer@ - first review 29.12.2012 - age: 18-25 |
This was a great movie, not a ha ha laugh out loud movie, but a good feeling movie about a mother and her son taking a cross country trip, getting to know each other and finding out there are feelings that hasn't been told till now... it was a heart warming feel good movie... enjoyed it very much.
| 9/10 | penny1212@ - first review 29.12.2012 - age: 50+ |
Fun, entertaining, light comedy with feeling. Could have had a few more laughs, then it would be a 10. Will go to see it again. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Don't listen to those that give it less.
| 9/10 | house1212shaw.ca@ - 36 reviews 29.12.2012 - age: 50+ |
Very predictable movie which tries hard to be a comedy, but just isn't funny. Rogen and Streisand try their best but the script is a mess. Lots of good movies playing over the holidays. Spend your cash on something else.
| 4/10 | mbreneol@ - 9 reviews 28.12.2012 - age: 50+ |
I was so impatient to watch this movie, my expectations were high, I was not disappointed. Loved it. Great story, very interesting, made me laugh and cry. Loved the relationship between mother and son, so realistic! Barbra Streisand is amazing as always; this lady can act. She's so funny and great actor. Seth Rogan is good too. Loved the way the movie ended, I didn't expect it to end that way.
