Wow, people are very difficult with this movie. I enjoyed it, even if the 3rd quarter was a bit long and a little depressing. There were funny moments through out, which I find rare in romcom these days.

It was what it was, as in real life as can be I suppose but many people do not want to see the reality of life and its ups and downs so to speak and that is why many did not take to it. There were few laughs here and there but overall it was okay could have used a bit of a picker upper but apart from that can't complain.

This was the most vulgar, offensive boring movie I think I have ever been to. If they can't do better than this they shouldn't bother. Language unbelievably bad and stupid plot that never seemed to end. Finally just walked out!

I really enjoyed this movie. My age group has so far rated it low and I can't figure out why. What I really liked about the story was that it was not a fairy tale love story, it was much more like real life. And the jokes in it made me laugh and laugh.

I guess I wasn't expecting much from this so that's why I enjoyed it mostly. A few problems I had was the story jumped around so much it seemed like and it wasn't needed, all it did was make the movie DRAG on forever, it seemed like it was soo long, my legs started to hurt and I wanted to leave. Not a great sign. But it did have some really good laughs and I love Segal movies, not a terrible movie.

I don't get why people didn't like this movie. I went with my girlfriends and we were laughing the entire time; so was everyone in the theatre.

I couldn't help thinking the entire time that this storyline has been done over and over and over again. The actors were amazing though.

When I saw the advertisement, I expected it's very interesting movie. But it's not so good than I expected.

It's a nice movie to see. It's not one of the big blockbusters and you really have to go see it without any expectations. Then it's fun. It's worth seeing it if you want to see a nice movie with good acting and some fun.

This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Embarrassingly not funny and pointless. It seemed to last for hours.

My daughter & I saw it together & thoroughly enjoyed it - silly fun humour.

Definitely more serious than I expected and yes a little slow at times. The whole thing felt like 5 minutes (... underwater... lol).. Had to do that one liner :) I liked the realistic dynamic between the leads as a couple (i. e the trials and tribulations)

Overall it was alright. It dragged on for a long time though I felt like I was in the theater for hours. Also there was little background music which made it even slower. Few funny parts, there were only a few scenes I actually enjoyed. I wouldn't recommend seeing it in theaters... more of a movie to watch when bored and nothing to do.

I didn't expect much from this movie and so I wasn't all that disappointed. The whole thing is exactly like the title says and just drags on. It's just barely entertaining. Don't even waste your money on renting it.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen - very slow, boring, poor acting and their attempts at being funny... were not. The only part I enjoyed was the last 5 min... now if only the whole movie could have been like that. Not worth the money.

It certainly felt like 5 very long years. The movie had funny moments, too bad most of them were in the trailers. It wasn't what I expected... much more serious than is advertised. But way too full of sophomoric humor.

I loved this movie! Although marketed as a comedy, it is more of a drama with a few really funny parts. It had a few great relationship truths in it.

The only funny parts were in the trailers... much too long a movie... 5 year engagement felt like 20 year engagement! 2 hours of my life I"ll never get back.

Enjoyed the humor and irony in this film. Enjoyed the acting. Too much nudity... I would have enjoyed it as much without the nudity.

If you think this is a romcom, you're wrong turn away and don't look back... Best thing about the movie was the trailers, the movie itself was so depressing...

I almost fall asleep during this movie. If I have to look at Jason's bottom one more time I might freak, he does it in all his movies, or so it seems. The plot was supposed to be funny but it uses swear words to try and make it funny. The show was just lame.

Overall, not a great movie. Some funny parts, but not enough to keep me interested. Thought about walking out, but decided to stay till the end. Movie really didn't get any better.

This movie starts off ok the first few minutes, however it gets worst and worst and the stupidity of it all made me leave before the end!

Really? Can anyone say this movie was funny? It was so poorly written and the 'jokes' at times felt desperate. It felt like a bunch of one liners pasted together, not having any consistent relation to the character speaking them... especially the character of Audrey, the young gf... if she found 'old' people so disgusting, then what was she doing with one?! Dumb is the word that best describes this movie.

A believable story of love, compromise and the pressure put on engaged couples. But so funny.

I liked it. It was a charming, enjoyable movie, well worth seeing. I think the problem with the ratings is that it was played up as an outright comedy... which it isn't. There definitely were funny bits but there was tragedy and pathos as well. It added up to a well rounded, well played, interesting movie... not a laugh riot by any means. It was as much a drama as a comedy and if watched with that in mind, you are much more likely to enjoy the movie.

There were some really funny parts, but the movie dragged on and was a bit on the long side. I wouldn't buy this movie, but it's worth seeing once for a great laugh.

Wow, such opposite reviews for this movie, I feel like we didn't all see the same show or all of the 10 ratings with the 'best comedy of the year' and 'amazing movie' are written by employees of the production company. I feel generous giving it a 4, but there were times I laughed out loud because I am a sucker for low brow prat fall humour. So many holes in the premise you could drive a truck through and just... so disappointing.

Very lame dialogue and waste of time. A real snooze-fest so bring your pillow and blanket.

My wife and I wanted to walk our 3/4 of the way through. This is a bad movie. We are fans of many of these comic actors, what a waste of talent. If I had rented this movie, I would have turned it off 1/2 way through. Terrible.

If you like rom-coms or dromedies, then you will probably like this one. Yes... it's too long, but very watchable. Emily Blunt and Jason Segel are very watchable. Set agains the backdrop of San Francisco and Michigan--very nice to watch too. It's about the evolution and changes to relationships and the impact of sacrificing one person's aspirations for their partners. It's also about over-thinking making a commitment. I definitely liked it. It kept my attention the whole time and I had a few laughs. Sure it got very silly at times, but overall... entertaining with a message.

Had its moments but way too long. Wanted to see more of Tom's chef friend and Violet's sister (and none of that boring psychology crowd) Made it through 85% of the movie before leaving. Here is a question for you, was Tom's downward spiral really a result of switching restaurants... or was the cause his change from a high protein northwest diet to a high carb eastern diet?
