This movie was so well done, it was authentic clips of Marley's life with Jamaican history inter-twined. It touched the soul and didn't hide who Marley truly was and what he stood for...

This is a white washed version of Bob Marley. The man, the legend, the drama deserve an epic version to charm the audience. It is very disappointing that due to the controlship of the estate, this film is just a version which the estate wants me/us to see! The film does NOT do justice to such a legend like Bob Marley!

Well done film on their time in music and the popularity this style grew to have. I really didn't know a lot about this group but recognized and really enjoyed some of their songs! Kind of a typical male thing, not going to the doctor when you should!!!

A captivating piece of filmmaking that captures his life, his international popularity and his cultural influence on music. I really have no criticism. The movie was both entertaining and information. As a second-generation Jamaican, I found the Jamaican characters so identifiable to so many of my relatives and friends back home. I would have appreciated more comments by his harem of women and children who carry the Marley name but that's just me looking for holes. It's a homerun documentary for sure.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Perhaps (with Scorsese's "No Direction Home") the greatest music documentary ever made. That is, a tremendous blend of music and biography. The chief weakness of the film is it's inference that Marley was like Jesus (or Haile Sellasie I): the film has nothing critical to say about its demigod. If you allow yourself to be swept away -- and how can you not? -- you might find yourself utterly inspired by this dazzling portrait of a visionary artist.

I was very glad I went to see this film. It gave me a better understanding of Bob Marley, and why, I have found his influence in so many places around the world where I have travelled. I also loved all the film footage of the 1960's and 70's. It was also like taking a trip to Jamaica.

Who never heard of Bob Marley? Probably, not many people. Who really knows Marley’s story? Probably, not many people also. This documentary aims to be complete and without complacency. I believe it attains its goals as much as it is possible with such subject matter. All of Marley’s life and death are displayed. Born in abject poverty, ostracised for being born to a white father passing through and a black mother; this man elevated himself over the masses and became a symbol for brotherhood and liberty. Marlye is not shown as sympathetic but so very charming, as it is often the case among the greats. Marley created a whole new genre of music, Reggae. This is quite a feat. Marley is a film to see and appreciate at many levels.

If you're a fan of Bob Marley, you'll want to see this one. If you like reggae music, you'll want to see this one. If you are interested in knowing more about the legend of Bob Marley, you'll want to see this one. In short... this is a must see movie. It is hard to capture every aspect of the life of Marley, but this musical documentary comes very close. This film covers a great deal about the man who became a household name around the world. Through some very good retrospective interviews and great historic footage, we look back over 50 years ago to a young Jamaican boy named Robert Nesta Marley who went on to change the world.

This was more than a journey back in time. It was history explained through, and about, the life and times of Bob Marley. I didn't know much about him or the Rasta movement, so it was a totally fascinating movie. It turns out he was a bit of a prophet in his own unassuming way. This is a must see.

An amazing documentary, super interesting, loved it. You'll get to know Bob Marley; it covers from the time he's born till his tragic death, you get to listen to his music, listen to his life stories from the mouth of the closest people he knew, he worked with, just awesome. Bob Marley made history, changed the life of millions of people through his music. A must see.

Amazing footage of Jamaica and photos of Bob. It puts his legacy into context. It captures the voices of people who were there at the time. Would be great to have had input from more of his children.

It talks about Marley and Jamaica too and fills in the gaps and explains his life and times in Jamaica. When the movie ended the audience applauded.

WOW... that was an amazing movie... very inspiring... I was happily surprised to see an almost sold out theater... was not expecting that on a Sunday with very little promotion for the movie. I think it shows the respect that Bob Marley still gets today and how much we need a ONE LOVE "movement" here in Canada (as our media and government are currently in the process of dividing us).. the movie was also amazingly shot... old footage mixed with such amazing colors and entertaining interviews. Ummm... I recommend you check it out with a crowd rather than downloading it alone... it's that kind of movie :) CHEERS!

This movie is not only a special documentary on Bob Marley. If you are not numb, it gets you leaving the movie theatre thinking about our human world of today as well.
