Better than excellent but not quite a masterpiece. Great mind-warping science fiction thriller - everything Inception was not.

TWELVE MONKEY'S is a sci-fi masterpiece. Along with BRAZIL it is Terry Gilliam's best film to date. A lot of people at the time said it was too confusing to follow. It is densely plotted, but everything makes sense. Everything is in its proper place. Take one scene out and you damage the logic of the narrative. The way the film is photographed is the way I like movies to be filmed instead of slick glossy photography. There is a strong grubby texture to the look of the film that I found beautiful. Willis gives his most human and vulnerable performance in this film. The scene where young Willis sees his own death at the airport is one of the great scenes of cinema. The time-travelling plot is convoluted on such a mindbending level that it had my mind working over-time so I wouldn't miss anything plot-wise. I watch this film regularly on DVD. With multiple viewings everythings becomes much clearer. It's a pity Gilliam has been unable to match the brilliance of BRAZIL and TWELVE MONKEY'S with his other films. For me this is the best time-travelling sci-fi ever made in this point in time.

To me this drama I had found to be quite entertaining to watch, especially from the two famous actors who had just this movie into its place. It happens to be the kind of film one would like to see over again to really get to know what is exactly going on in this film I found it well donne. Brad Pitt to me I had found in this film one of the best as far as his acting is concerned compared to all his other films he had been on.

This movie was bone chilling the first time I saw it. Every time since then, it has been simply entertaining. I've never liked Bruce or Brad better in any other movie. The same probably goes for the rest of the actors, accept I don't know what else they are in.

Flashbacks really worked, acting so well done, especially Brad Pitt. Flowed along beautifully. Took you away. One of the best. It didn't need music, which is a must these days more than before.

Terry Gillam's obsession for detail makes revisiting this movie essential. There is so much going on one has to see it again to pick up the subtle nuances. Bruce Willis plays himself again however he does help orientate the viewer in time. Brad Pratt should have won a supporting actor award although I think he was merely letting ID out. The always lovely Madeleine Stowe keeps the picture together for us. The CGI was VERY impressive. When’s the last time you saw a couple of Giraffes sauntering down the Gardiner... enjoy again.

Good science-fiction, I loved to see Brad in a role not made for females... and Willis works well. You have to understand it to appreciate it.

This is one of the few movies that walks the blurred line of fantasy and reality. Often a fantasy created in our head can look so real that we will even find realistic evidence in is support. This movie is must see!

Terry Gilliam (the director) does a terrific job of portraying this futuristic brasil/blade runner type odyssey about this man (Willis) who travels back and forth through future/past to prevent the destruction of man. Brad pitts crazy interpretation of a mental patient/visionary is fantastic. The twists in the movie make it a must see.

This is an excellent movie. It was very difficult to understand though. I love time travel fictions, and the idea of Bruce getting more and more advanced in years every time he goes back in time was fabulous. And somehow the doctor and Jeffrey (Brad Pitt) always end up in whatever year he goes to is facinating.

I am still scratching my head trying to understand this movie. Perhaps a hit or two of some banned banana would help, I'm not sure. All I know is that the lack of continuity, the pure 'dizziness' of the storyline, and the wickedly overacted performances played by Brad Pitt made me wonder how Bruce Willis and Madeleine Stowe could figure out how to portray their characters. At the end of this tale, I think the 12 Monkeys blew chunkies.

One of Bruce Willis best movie. The acting is wonderful by Bruce and Brad Pitt the direction is good, screenplay I've seen better but this one is alright. You gotta watch it a few times before you get all of it (it took me 2 times)

Didn't think I was going to like this one. It certainly got me interested in the story. Willis does a great job. You really care about this character. Suspenseful, gripping. What actually happened here is not clear. People disagree. There are different interpretations. Maybe I should have rated this higher. Well 7.5 at least.

This movie is awesome. It is a Sci Fi Thriller and is twisted. It has many different stories that connect together at the end. Bruce Willis does an excellent job of a confused but organized time traveller. Medeleine Stowe gives a great portrate of dispare at the end. Brad Pitt's charactor present the illusion of knowing the truth but in the end we find outh that the truth seekers are non other that those creepy futuristic Milleneum charactors.

There are certain movies out there that one could easily brush by in the 7-day-rental isle at blockbuster, 12 Monkeys is one that you can rent time and time again. With equal parts mystery, tragedy, psychological thriller, and apocalyptic drama, Willis upholds a solid performance as a branded whack-job with the support of fellow lunatic played by Brad Pitt. This movie keeps you on your toes from start to finish and is undoubtedly worth adding to the home collection.

I could not believe, up to now, that Brad Pitt could act. Willis breaks out of his "hero guy" image and is great in this movie the story is incredible, and translated well to film.
