Best movie that didn't come to my local theater. Too bad that so many people missed it! I'll be getting a dvd of this future cult classic.

Nice story and great action. I didn't know Lincoln was a hero like this, interesting.
| 7/10 | monicafia@ - 157 reviews 26.10.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Well, I was expecting something else from the title. From what they had to work with, I thought it was alright, but it could of been better, which is usually the way with these movies. Give me a Gary Oldman or someone with a star name. Do I sound disappointed with the end result? I guess, I do sound like it. Don't I.

This was a fantastic movie. Tim Burton is an unbelievable director and never disappoints, this movie is no exception. I would definitely watch it again... and again... and again.

An interesting take on the vampire genre and Lincoln's life as well. Would see it again.
| 8/10 | sugarplum8@ - 4 reviews 5.8.2012 - age: 36-49 |
All around fun, story was well written, fantastic blending of fact and ficton.
| 9/10 | intense@ - 5 reviews 1.8.2012 - age: 36-49 |
It's a big dumb action/horror, and it's a lot of fun. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, except in the execution of crazy over the top stunts. I had a really good time watching this.
| 7/10 | stefaneechi@ - 3 reviews 31.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
The effects are excellent, I really loved the story, the historic references. A must for people who like vampire and action movies!
| 9/10 | steffi21@ - 2 reviews 30.7.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Pleasantly surprised after having rolled my eyes at the first mention of this movie (ok actually I said why [...] does everything have to have vampires in it?) That being said the vampire concept was interestingly woven into the historical aspects. Bonus for originality and nice visual effects and cinematography. Check it out!
| 7/10 | rubix_world@ - 74 reviews 30.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I really enjoyed this movie. Great CGI and history on Lincoln. I was expecting this movie to be silly, but it all seemed to fit together with history and worked. I didn't care for the 3D, but I think that was all about the glasses not the movie. Excellent fight scenes with lots of action. I'm going to buy it when it comes out on bluray so I can watch it again.
| 10/10 | mapine@ - 30 reviews 28.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Wow, what a total surprise. For those that said this is like buffy the vampire slayer... SO WRONG!! I went because there were a lot of good reviews on here so thought I would check it out. It is very very GOOD! It is not corny at all and had great acting, good story and character development. Great fight scenes. Honestly, you are really missing something if you don't go to see this movie!!
| 9/10 | dbtrlesy@ - 16 reviews 28.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Cool blend of action action history and unique take on vampire genre.
| 10/10 | dicknixon55@ - first review 26.7.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Did not read the book and saw it simply because I thought the idea was interesting. It did not disappoint and I enjoyed it from start to finish. If the title interests you, check it out - I can guarantee that it will be the best movie you ever saw in which Abraham Lincoln hunts vampires. It had a nice good versus evil story, the effects looked great and all the actors were top shelf.

Went to see it without any expectations and finally enjoyed it! Good effects and good story. My hubby and teen son liked it too.

Great mixture of the historical and absurd... loads of fun.
| 8/10 | conroypitt@ - first review 21.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
If you stop thinking so technically about movies being 10/10 for every category you'll never be satisfied. This movie had great action scenes, with the axe cutting and all. Plus, they wrote real american history to match up with the fictional part of it, tying both together. Entertaining and great to watch.
| 8/10 | iris.zhai@ - 6 reviews 20.7.2012 - age: 18-25 |
The most marvelous movie I have seen ever. And all the connections with history were so cool. And the filming and scenery was great too.
| 10/10 | jules@ - 3 reviews 19.7.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It was certainly different and well done, not a bad movie overall but it was a little to much talkie-talkie for my liking that is.
| 7/10 | shazjoao@ - 1728 reviews 15.7.2012 |
Honestly it was really entertaining, the history was accurate... bravo on that and the acting is good. It's a great summer movie to get lost in. Go check it for sure!
| 8/10 | jbell7@ - 2 reviews 15.7.2012 - age: 26-35 |
It was a nice movie. Kept me a lot of attending while watching. Benjamin is not handsome but I like Dominic. Mary is really beautiful. The story line was good.
| 9/10 | lifeandthecity@ - 42 reviews 7.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I was really disappointed as this movie had a great trailer. While this story has great visuals and action sequences, the direction and editting never developed the "suspension of disbelief" required for such films to work.
| 4/10 | niteray@ - 26 reviews 7.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Perfect. One of the better 3d movies I've seen, if not the best. Not a super strong script, but, it's Abraham Lincoln fighting vampires. Either your into this genre or your not.
| 10/10 | busterlechat@ - 2 reviews 7.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I thought this would be a huge pile of guano, especially given the title. I mean, really? And then I went and saw it on a particularly hot day and was more than pleasantly surprised. This movie was actually very good. The acting was reasonable, the historical accuracy was good and the writing was very good. So why not go, even if the title is a bit more than a little off-putting.
| 7/10 | randy_barnhart@ - 31 reviews 5.7.2012 - age: 50+ |
President Lincoln close quarter combat with vampires. When trying to give examples of the fight between good versus evil, never in a million years would I have come up with this conflict. For this reason alone, I suggest you catch this movie.
| 7/10 | sports_fan@ - 45 reviews 4.7.2012 - age: 26-35 |
A visual feast, good plot and good acting, and a very pleasant surprise considering the title. The story has good historical perspective as well. Tim Burton scores again!
| 9/10 | soma@ - 2 reviews 3.7.2012 - age: 50+ |
I was pretty skeptical I'd be entertained, but it was enjoyable in a quirky kind of way. They kept true to Lincoln's life while incorporating the vampire storyline. The story kept moving and was quite action packed.
| 7/10 | djc16@ - 6 reviews 3.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Thoroughly entertaining! Yes, the plot is silly and some of the storytelling is a little clunky, but if you take it for what it is, it becomes a lot of fun. Went with a friend and we laughed all the way through.
| 7/10 | inkstain35@ - 4 reviews 3.7.2012 - age: 26-35 |
This was a breathtaking original film that was a great blessing to humanity!!! The truth of Abraham Lincoln is revealed at last!!!
| 10/10 | breedespain@ - first review 2.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Haven't seen a vampire film that was better than Van Helsing yet and this was no exception. Okay for a one time watch, nothing special or memorable though. Not really necessary to see on the big screen.
| 6/10 | shelly@ - 30 reviews 2.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
If you see this movie with the right attitude knowing it's going to be cheesy then you can have a great time!! The 3D was pretty decent and there was lots of action but no substance of course. Worth seeing for pure enjoyment.
| 7/10 | blake__roxxs@ - 87 reviews 2.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Ahhh, well, read the title, then, read it again. It was nothing short of what the title suggests. It was Abe Lincoln, killing vampires. If you're expecting some deeper cause for this movie, forget it. I warned you. Take your brains out and enjoy a good old-fashioned vampire movie. It's fun, if a touch too long.
| 6/10 | stanlee@ - 101 reviews 2.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |

If you have a brain avoid and do yourself a favor, cause this movie is a headache.
| 1/10 | burn1down_2k@ - first review 2.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Good movie! Surprising from beginning to end. The cgi were at the right places for the action sequences making vampires and Abraham super strength for their endless fights!
| 8/10 | zzubuzz@ - 9 reviews 1.7.2012 - age: 50+ |
This was SO much better than I expected in every way. The story with its historical tie ins to slavery and the civil way is amazingly good, and the acting and effects are great. Not for young kids, but a great action movie with some serious thoughts underneath. The 3D adds nothing, don't waste your money, it's fine without it.
| 9/10 | walter2@ - 93 reviews 1.7.2012 - age: 50+ |
No such thing would ever happen in real life, but not forgetting that it is a movie, kept me entertained right through, so when one night at home and you want some action movie I would buy this one. Good viewing!!
| 7/10 | frac001@ - 26 reviews 1.7.2012 - age: 50+ - 2 replies |
OK, I would not typically go see a show like this, but my kids talked me into it. Was I ever surprised! Full of action and history and a good chuckle every now and then. Take a chance on this one folks, you won't be disappointed!!
| 9/10 | cavatti@ - 6 reviews 1.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I would rate it about a 6.5. Not great but still entirely watchable. Pretty good special effects, good action throughout, and I liked the time period sets. On the bad side - too much CGI, some silly CGI action scenes, aging make-up looked bad, and the story dragged a bit in the middle. Still, the movie was silly fun, Abe Lincoln is a decent action hero (who knew) and the bridge action scenes were exciting.
| 6/10 | mwhal@ - 103 reviews 1.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
This movie was great, I believe it was directed by the maker of Wanted correct? I would say it was even better than wanted, the movie was non stop action and suspense. (This is not a spoiler) I love how at the end they show a little clip of obama in a bar, if they make a sequel "Barrack Obama: Vampire Hunter that would be amazing. Overall review, this is a must see movie for all action, horror, and adventure movie fans. I definitely will buy this on blu ray when it is released.

Hollywood's motto seems to be that when you run out of good ideas you use bad ones. The concept of vampire hunting in the mid-19th century isn't a bad one, but the anti-historical claptrap about Lincoln made this movie a joke before it got started. I only went to see it to marvel at how low Hollywood can go. I gave it the mark that I did because it wasn't the worst stinker in history due to the surprisingly good acting of some of the supporting actors. Otherwise it would have been a 1 or 2. And the 3D? As usual, it detracted from the movie, especially the scenes it allegedly enhances. If you must watch it, wait to catch it on Bad Movie ReRun Night on the telly or online.

Weird movie... Abraham Lincoln fights the south which is made up of a vampire army, fine. But how did he obtain super powers? Major hole in the plot. Interesting concept but the book did not translate well to the screen like a Twilight.

The movie was better than I thought it was going to be. Good action, suspense and a little bit of American history thrown in. Benjamin Walker was great as Ab.
| 7/10 | peterm55@ - 46 reviews 30.6.2012 - age: 50+ |
I loved it. Being a vampire movie fan, it had all of it, hollywood magic and I never knew Abraham could kick ass like that! :) going to read the book after this! Must see at the theaters!

Just have to go in this movie and not take it seriously, it's fun, it looks good full of action and once honest Abe gets old and has the beard and fights vampires, it's pure awesome, fun silly movie, just what I wanted.

I though it was slow at first but good at the end. Really good action kinda like Sherlock Holmes but got stupid when Abraham's kid dies from the vampire.

Great vision and well executed. Top notch entertainment with an intelligent scrip, slyly accurate acting and great effects; it's a drama, a thriller, a romance, political thriller/fantasy... it's a period movie, an action movie and a horror film all-in-one, too... and it ALL works!
