Death would have been a welcome sight before the end of the movie. The special effects were totally over shadowed by the cheesy dialog. It was obvious they spent all the money on the special effects and hired a writer who worked for minimum wage. Sadly that's 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

This was a great movie. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

Definitely enjoyed this movie. It has awesome destruction scenes and it's definitely neat to see visually this prediction that has been around for years. There are a few parts that seem to drag on, but it is a good movie to go and see.

I adored it, some of the effects were really fake, but even though. I loved it, so many actions, you seriously can't get bored. It was a bit long, I had to run to the bathroom right in the middle of the movie though. But anything else, was pretty much flawless to me. :)

Great graphics, kind of cheesy B-movie storyline, but people go to see these types of movies for the awe factor anyhow, so who really cares if there's no Oscar performances in it, you know what I mean? I found it pretty terrifying to watch considering my Master says that the world really is going to end in 2012, unless everyone in the world becomes vegetarian. So it was like glimpsing 3 years into the future for me.

Well done movie. Takes the "end of the world" idea and makes its best effort to make it real, human and action-packed. Yeah there's some flips ups here and there, but they did a good job overall...

Who cares about a storyline? This film has great special effects and despite a few predictably corny scenes keeps moving from start to finish. My 11-year-old son I both enjoyed it. Oh yes, and deserves 10/10 for keeping the camera steady so we can see what's happening -- none of that irritating "documentary" stupidity.

This movie was great. It is definitely worth seeing. It is quite long, and some parts do drag, but nonetheless mind grabbing and an action grabber. As people have said, great effects and the acting is decent. The kids in the movie are the scene stealers. Another good script for John Cusack.

Very poor script, acting and story. Wish someone would have told me before wasting money on it! Don't waste your time and money!

Don't waste your time and money to go watch it because it's not worth it - even if it comes out on dvd... don't bother! The movie is SO unrealistic and there's absolutely no storyline!

Hesitant to watch this movie after reading all the negative reviews... it was pretty good, I am glad I went. The story could have been better, but it is watchable and the constant action was engrossing. It felt really nice after the movie to drive home in a comfortable vehicle riding on solid ground. Don't miss this movie on the big screen.

Cheesy story line and unbelievable driving from John Cusak. I kept waiting for the General Lee horn sound when he was driving the limo. It makes me feel better because I know there is no way in hell this storyline could ever happen. I wonder if Disney was involved in this?

The storyline was very predictable from the outset, the only "surprise" was of no consequence. The acting was average with the CGI not making up for it. The movie relied heavily on Computer Generated Images to provide some interesting scenes, this however gave you the feel that you were in a 3d motion ride interjected by dramatic scenes... overall not my pick for a movie.

One of the best movies I have seen yes there are some cheesy scenes but aside from those unrealistic parts the drama action and sparks of comedy were put in to make an awesome movie, the graphincs also made up for the cheesy scenes.

I liked this movie a lot because I am curious about 2012. The movie had really good action parts that I enjoyed made me really tence even hold my breath at some points because I was so nervouse what was going to happen i didnt like how long it was and the ending was bitter sweat loved the acting a lot and the special effects it was a bit to much though if they made it more realistic it would be scarier.

2012 is a very good epic movie, starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Morgan Lily who, even at her Young age, is a very good actress. When a series of geological and astrological disasters happenn all over de world, scientifics and some illuminated begin to doubt. And, as wll as the catalism occur, they realize that its all of the Earth's crust that is moving over. Than begin the course to the ships who will suppose to save the fiew aurvivors of the apcalypse predicted be the Maya's calendar... The 2h38 houres long sc-fi movie is more for teens, nit because of vilonce or anything else, but because of some scientifics terms or explications of the phenomens might be a little bit complicated for yougers. The movie rating is 6.4/10 stars, and I think that the movie could of get mayby one more star if he was a little less long. The effects and the caracters are great, I woud of given 7/10 stars. 2012 has been rated PG-13 and the Roland Emmerich disaster is a must-see movie Dougnie.

Rarely should action films be long, and this film should used an extra pass in the editing suite. It's popcorn and mindless destruction with a bit of character stories thrown in for sympathy. It's pretty much what Independence day, Troy, and Day after Tomorrow were, mindless fun.

If you go into this movie with even a basic grasp of reality you will be hugely disappointed with the story. The actors do their best with what they are given, but only Woody's performance was really merit worthy. If you like special effects and are happy to go to a movie just to watch stuff getting blown up, then this movie if for you, but if you expect anything more, don't bother. It's too bad because the basic idea could make a really good film.

It's all about special effects! Which were pretty good, but could there be some realistic points at all? Cheese ball lines beyond belief and a whole host of stupid pitches, a kid named noah and Ark's everyone could be saved in, if you had the money. Ya that's right we even had two sets of animals to go along. [...] I hear some people have already commited suicide over this movie, I dont think I will drink the poison just yet... unless I have to watch this movie again!

This was like an amazing movie there is action, romance, comedy and so much more. The actors/actresses put alot of effert into the movie. So I think yu should tack 2 hours of your day to watch an awesome movie. It's worth it, trust me!

“Some” of the special effects were good, some were so BAD on so many levels it was SAD. The editing in some parts were mind boggling STUPID you can tell it was done inside a cubicle in some really small brightly lit room. It was about 1 hour longer than it should have been and the female, what some would call the “Leading Lady” needs acting lessons. (Amanda Peet I believe) It kept jumping around sooo much it really didn’t follow any path. We all got the concept of the movie, but could have been done with better acting, directing, editing. If you want to waste 2½ hours, money not to mention wasting time, have fun and go see it. Otherwise Nooo.

I actually fell asleep a couple times. Terrible acting. They obviously concentrated on the special effects, and didn't care about the plot, characters, etc. Oh the cheese...

The movie 2012 is a sci-fi movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is known by everybody, it describes the end of the world we know like the mayas predicted it. Rating: 9/10 Personnaly I really liked this movie it is really stressing because of all the special effects. The rate is G. It is 2h38 long and any kind of person should go see it and would like it because you don't know if it's gonna happen for real.

This is as good as a disaster movie could get. For this category it's EXCELLENT! The story line was great and the special effects were awesome. Sure there was some unbelievable near death escapes but hey, this is Hollywood and you need this stuff to show the special effects. So if you're not open minded to this and you expect an intellectual movie with Oscar worthy acting in order to get your 10$ worth, then this movie is not for you. Cheers -FH.
