A wonderful story, that keeps you interested scene after scene. The dialogue is the best of any film I have ever seen. The acting is flawless. This interesting story was IMHO marketed wrong- it looks like it will be depressing, but is far from it. All of my friends agreed w me after I convinced them to see it-it is far better than its trailer and outline.

The movie was excellent, started to breakdown and cry at the end, have a soft spot for Vince Vaughn.

This movie was so moving, same idea as Brokedown Palace but with so much more to it. This movie showed real human suffering I cried so hard. This is a definite must see, no doubt about. I have already recommended it to all my friends.

It's a really sad movie, I was crying, Joaquin Phoenix looked so ill, and so thin. Good actors!

There was not a single moment in that movie that I even thought about getting up to get something. A work of art. It is nail bitting, suspenceful, and amoung every thing else it is educational. After watching that movie I will never take advantage of a good thing.

Awesome movie! If you liked "Brokedown Palace", you'll love this movie! I wouldn't exactly call Penang, Malaysia "paradise", though. I know, I've been there.

It started out really good... the premise was great.. the acting was good... but in the end the story just fizzled.

An excellent movie : nothing else to say

Very good movie, there are some intense scenes which will leave you speachless. Good acting and unpredictable end, though I wonder if it was totally realistic.

Excellent film with a minimum of Hollywood cheese. Great acting throughout, especially from Anne Heche and Joaquin Phoenix in a smaller role. One of those movies that critics call "a powerhouse".
