It was odd, just like the title says, but it was also pretty imaginative.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
It was on a Sunday night and I didn't know what to do, and I watched this movie without really knowing what it was about. Oddly, I got entirely immersed into the movie as the story (needless to say that it was an original story) progressed toward a touching conclusion, maybe predictive, but also touching. So, it turned out to be a good movie about a happily married couple greatly deserving a kid whom life unexpectedly brings the miracle they just hoped about. According to me, this movie won't be nominated for any Oscar, but either way it made me smile, cry an laugh! I ended up loving it because it delivers a good message of hope, courage and determination when we really want something, referring to the last words of the kid, that is «Never give up». Bravo!

My boyfriend and I went to go see the movie not knowing what it was about, and ended up loving it! It wasn't simply a message about parenting but also a lesson in appreciating the "impossibles" in life and being happy no matter who will understand it. I particularly thought it was meant to speak to all audiences no matter what age, race, sex ect. And it also could be an aid in teaching others how to view those who have disabilites.

I loved it! A delight and a treat to be mesmerized by such a feel good story. Wonderful, sentimental, charming and touching. Makes you appreciate what you have and reflect on all the silliness we bicker about. Warms the heart too.

This is a terrific film and a good diversion from our everyday mundane lives. I was transported to fantasy land for a couple of hours and was able to get lost in the magic and wonder just like a little kid. So, refreshingly whimsical, tender, and touching. A great little story for all ages.

What a pure delight! This kicks ass off of Life of Pi and my nieces and nephews liked this flic over the other one easily. I also enjoyed the magic, affirmation of love, faith and imagination in this film. It is rated G and this entirely appropriate. Well done!

Wow! What a refreshing little gem of a film. So offbeat and full of magic, inspiration, imagination, faith and fantasy. Kicks the pants off of Life of Pi. Not even close to see which flic is superior and is actually age appropriate for kids, yes, children of all ages and adults with big, open hearts. Simply a pleasure to see and behold. I will see it again, I'm sure of that.

Very heart warming and it really did try but it seemed like a long way to tell a fish out of water story. The acting was good and everybody did try very hard to tug at your emotional heart strings but it just came up short, in my opinion. All I really got from the movie was a 'meh' feeling... and the movie itself was soon forgotten. In fact, I forgot to write my review until a month or so after I saw the movie.

A beautiful movie to watch - loved the house and the clothes! Also good background music. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The story is not bad - a little predictable perhaps. Mostly I enjoyed the music and visuals. Jennifer Garner is always a treat to watch.

Although I don't really prefer Jennifer Garner I can honestly say against my low expectations, this movie was very enjoyable. The story itself is very original and holds your interest from beginning to end. If anything the beginning is weaker than the middle and end... at first I was thinking what the? A kid with leaves on his legs? But the parable that is played out teaches us all a lesson that we only have so much time here and we never know how much time and when our time will end. Perfect movie for the fall. Very layered, and far deeper than it presents in its Hollywood bubble wrap.

Peter Hedges co-wrote and directed this film, he also directed " What's Eating Gilbert Grape, a far more superior movie in all aspects. What went wrong? "Timothy Green" is overflowing with sugary sweet scenes and is full of clichés. The screenplay could have had much more potential. The movie does have a similarity with "Ruby Sparks" in that a person is created by wishful thinking, longing for, affirmation and also the fact that in both films an almost perfect person in the eyes of their beholders is created. What bugs me, and yes, I am aware that girls develop physically faster than boys, is that in "Timothy Green" as well as in "Moonrise Kingdom", the girls are too alluring and sexy for girls of their age - and that the boys are nerdy and so different and at least not cast as the sensuous creatures that the girls are cast as. On the positive side, there are some gorgeous cinematographic delights and nice lighting. But, on the whole, I found this film to be a big disappointment.

I liked this film. I was crying before the opening credits. Lol my only complaint was that many of the comical parts were in the previews. Don't come to this movie expecting to laugh... Come to cry.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. You have to suspend disbelief to accept the story line but it's a fantasy like move so, if you can't do that, try a historical drama. In spite of the unreal scenario, the situations depicted in the movie will strike a chord with most parents. In a way, Timothy Green's life succeeds by not succeeding in all that his parents had 'literally' wished for but succeeding wonderfully in what really matters; something that his parents expressed by their wishing. This is a powerful message delivered with unusual effectiveness. Thank you.

A very touching and nice family movie with lots of feel good stuff. Some good lessons in how we should treat each other, how we should be open minded to things we may not have considered, how we should embrace life with gratitude for what we have and how we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves as parents. A very funny scene too about how you should be specific in what you wish for *but I don't want to spoil anything! *

With such a good overall review my husband and I went to see this movie. We do not understand how this movie received such a good overall review. It was actually painful to watch. We agree that the little boy did his best to carry this movie, but all other aspects failed in a big way. My husband will no longer pick a movie, and I think I may have to agree after watching this one.

If you enjoy a good story about dedicated parenthood and believe that a single wish could positively change your life and the lives of those around you, then this movie is a must-see! This movie spoke to my heart... not many movies these days seem to touch on down home family values. This one does.

This is only the third movie I have ever officially rated but I feel compelled to do so. The lead playing the boy did a god job! And yet, this movie was awful. I just can't comprehend an 8.2 rating. This movie is creepy and twisted. I was embarrassed to be watching and from time to time had to look away. It was just so sugar sweet and lame! Save your time and money. Watch it on Netflix for free so you can turn it off thus not wasting your money time or brain matter. Upon reading the other glowing reviews, it just makes me wonder where peoples' sense of judgement comes from. What are you thinking people?

As human beings we have most come to life through our mum's womb. What if only one of us was born differently? This is what this movie is all about. A definite-must-see!

If you MUST see it, wait for it on video... or better yet, wait until it hits TV. According to reviews here it's supposed to be a touching movie that will make you laugh and cry. Really? That was definitely not my experience. I rated this a 3 but that's generous, 2 is probably more accurate. Save your money and sanity, there are other family, feel good movies that are worth seeing.

A Very nice heartfelt story with a few instances where I needed to concentrate on resisting the urge to cry and release my built up and bottled emotions that I've harnessed over the months since my old dog died recently.
