Truthfully dignified as one of the most artistically inspiring, emotionally draining, and visually epic and breathtaking original stories within a motion picture of all time. That in a Batman film, even more august. As a summer movie, just a Czar and renowned legend of blockbusters above any and all. It delivers on a grandiose scale, and ornamentally awes from Nolan's most gratifying conclusion. It's shallowness, nevertheless, is it's implosion of ineffectual liberation and faux pas. With alluring substance of smaller elements that's existent, but not exposed, the narrative fixates on it's chief character and the voluminous aspects, that it believes harmonic glory is reached to attain. The story delivers with such height, that it fails to matchably deliver with no weight, as the lack of developing smaller elements takes away the fervidly impassioned and gallantly "mega of sagas" vision of the tale, disconnecting in repetition. Making it more intensely histrionic and rip-roaring vision. Lest, knowing the unbearable power it's potential encompassed, it still withholds more weight than any movie this year. And the experience is the utmost authentic, Universal Studios ride-like, and orgasmic in a theatre setting, and especially in IMAX scale, ever produced. The movie is ambitious, but fails to support it with the weight it deserves for greatness, cursing it's Oscar potential. The Dark Knight Rises is a rumbling and vivid stimulation of visual entertainment and artistry that'll be looked upon as the epic of this generation and a superhero masterpiece of future ones.

If you're expecting "The Dark Knight" all over again then you won't be very thrilled. You'll find that 96% of this movie is all talk with nothing happening and that the other 3% will come at random points in the movie and be pretty cool. The opening is part of that 3%.

Great Movie. Loved it. Liked the previous one more, but this is worth renting since it is no longer in theatres. If you have not seen the pervious one, The Dark Knight, be sure to see it before this one.
| 9/10 | emem@ - 7 reviews 2.2.2013 |
Good movie worth seeing. It's as dark, if not darker than the previous 2, but the story isn't complex enough.

A little hard to follow with the sound. Kind of too long a movie. Nice to see a Batman - kind - of movie again.

It was good, but not so much. The story was simple.
| 7/10 | hayato2010@ - 6 reviews 26.11.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Inspiring, immense and overpowering are three words that define The Dark Knight Rises, cover coated with evasively-toned and plundering epic to be in awe of. This may not be the best in Chris Nolan's Batman series, or is most thorough work, but it most certainly is his grandeur.

I can't believe so many people have a hate on for this movie. I loved it so much. And I'm confused. It seems like there are very few people in the middle of the spectrum, it's only the two extremes of absolute hate or amazingly loved. I don't know why people are so against it, as it was an amazing movie. Only 17 more days 'till it's on DVD. It acually comes out December 4th.

This movie will make you sit at the edge of your seat, jump in the air, then go back to your seat on edge, jump again, then will make you clap in public without any embarrassment at the end of the movie. GO SEE IT!

Despite a few small stumbles, a completely awesome movie!
| 8/10 | pam@ - 17 reviews 9.11.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I thought it was good, but it could have been better. The movie was a little long and towards the end, I couldn't wait for it to finish. If you're REALLY into Batman, you still might want to see it...

One of the best movies of the year. Christopher Nolan ends the series with a bang.

What was the plot? There was no plot. A terrorist takes over a city for some fake "people's revolution" and then his girlfriend decides to murder 12 million people because her father wanted to but Batman stopped it. And her father was a jerk to her before and left her to dies but once Batman killed him she decided to avenger him? What a load of garbage. Nothing made sense, Batman was barely even in the movie and he was terrible when he was in it. Catwoman was a spoiled and entitled brat.

The sound is horrible, Maybe 25% is audible. This movie is designed for 6 years old kids. It's like a wrestling match. First the bad guy wins the fight then suddenly, the good guy beats the hell out of the bad guy. No reason for the difference. Catwoman was great, however, she goes around blowing up unlimited thing, despite the fact that she has only 2 rockets. The ending is the best, Batman manages to send the atomic bomb far out in the ocean, and somehow manages to survive the blast. Really childlike movie.

Eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face's crimes, a new terrorist leader, Bane overwhelms Gotham's finest, and the Dark Knight resurfaces to protect a city that brands him an enemy. That was good.

Best batman ever. Better than the avengers by far.

This movie was awful. I did not like the villain and storyline. Much too long and dragged on to no end. Not a good way to end the final showing at the theatre.

Entertaining is the best way to describe it. Was not as amazing as the Dark Knight but that was hard to follow. Liked it, might watch again someday.

Absolutely as real as it could ever be and they follow the best parts of killing Joker with Dark knight and leave room for another director to do a trilogy to tie in Robin and continue the legend up until Gordon's kid becomes Oracle.

Hi I'm [...] years old and I want to be in the movie industry when I'm an adult. Now this movie is a masterpiece. I'm a huge fan of Christopher Nolan's work. Now when The Dark Knight came out 4 YEARS before this I thought eh, I'm no batman fan. I was 8 then. I saw it and it was amazing, but I was confused. So I watched Batman Begins and that finished the pieces missing in my puzzle. If you want a real action see this movie now. Edge of your seat the whole movie, you don't want to go to the bathroom to miss it even if it's 163 minutes almost 3 hours. YES I may be a kid, but literally just walk into that theatre door.

Best movie of the franchise. Nolan's best piece. This is the perfect end for the Batman series.

Warning... SPOILERS! This is the Knightfall comicbook storyline brought to the screen... Pure crap. Batman is a couch potatoe. Catwoman saves poor, pathetic Batman... Nice example for the boys and men in the audience? The 3rd movie where Batman is not the star of his own title. REBOOT IS VERY NECESSARY. Nolan is garbage!

Good movie, worth seeing, yet not worthy of a batman movie tittle.
| 7/10 | pam@ - 8 reviews 4.10.2012 - age: 18-25 |
This is the best movie I have ever seen. I am so happy that it wasn't in 3D. The music was incredible, and the cinematography was epic. On top of all of that it has one of the greatest ensemble casts ever put together. It is long but it's so entertaining that you just can't tell. While the Avengers was disappointing to me this greatly exceeded my expectations. Nolan is a genius. I won't even say how many times I've seen this movie.

The batpod was awesome and but expected Catwoman to be a little more gymastic. I liked Bane a lot but wasn't as mesmerizing as Joker.

Gary Oldman, Freeman, Hardy, Gordon-Levitt, amazing actors, they don't just play in any random, bad movie!
| 10/10 | davepeters@ - 7 reviews 25.9.2012 - age: 13-17 |
This movie is a disjointed mess with atrocious performances from the entire cast. The director had no idea where he was going with the storyline which is why this thing drags for almost 3 hours. Don't even get me started on the script.

Finally got around to see this last Batman series and enjoyed it despite it being too long. Could have cut out about 20-30 minutes of the beginning. Pleasantly surprised of the good performances by both Joseph Gorden-Levitt and Marion Cotillard. Liked the ending especially who the real enemy/villain really is.

| 10/10 | devyngwynne@ - 2 reviews 21.9.2012 - age: 13-17 |
The movie would have been better if they just tighten the story a little more. It went on, unnecessary scenes, predictable half way through that I became uninterested. Catwoman didn't do anything to hold my attention. A real disappointment since I like the first movie.
| 6/10 | spacecharm@ - 67 reviews 20.9.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Not a big fan of superhero movies. And this movie didn't really change my mind. Farfetched. Sort of predictable except for one thing that I didn't see coming at all. I probably wont bother ever watching it again.

This Film is flawed, some parts of the script are awkward and do not make sense, the macguffin is hammered into ones head as is the Pavlovian auto-pilot. HOWEVER this film is still overall a masterpiece, a true achievement in cinematic history and particularly a great ending to my generation's equivalent to "Star Wars" in terms of how great the story is. Bane is a truly terrifying and badass vilain who differentiates himself from the masterful Joker performance. Anne Hathaway is Amazing and the greatest catwoman in another medium form the comics, her tone of voice, her movement, her costume all of it is PITCH perfect. Christian Bale also gives his strongest performance in this film as he has more room to show a WIDE range of emotion. The true stars of this film are the score and the cinematography, where Nolan may fail to achieve perfection in a scene Wally Pfister and Zimmer manage to fill in the holes allowing for a TRULY great cinematic experience. Go see this film in Imax at least twice, there will not be an experience like this in theaters for quite some time.

Not a bad movie, but certainly not as good as the previous two. It dragged on a little too long, and the action scenes weren't really anything special.

This film did not meet the minimum requirements for spacial, temporal or dramatic continuity. Every scene was disjointed. The characters were as thin as possible with close to no motivation. The politics and the plot were a disgrace. Normally, I like Nolan's films, and I liked the previous two Batman films, but this was shockingly bad. So bad that I was actually hoping Batman would die in the middle of the movie.

Worst. Movie. Ever. Total waste of money and talent. Michael Caine has been in a lot of stinkers in his time, but this might be the worst. Morgan Freeman, how could you stoop to this level? Boring characters. Inane dialogue. Terrible pointless plot that made no sense whatsoever. I wanted to leave halfway though, but my wife thought it might get better. It didn't. Bad, bad, bad.
