A good movie led by great actors. But very (too?) classic in its feature.

A movie about corruption, betrayal and revenge. Great acting by Wahlberg and Crowe. Nice to see Catherine Zeta-Jones in it as well.

I believe this movie could have been done differently. Mark Wahlberg for me is a comedian actor, I can never take him serious, including his overly done accent in this film. I do like Mr. Russell Crowe, he is always intriguing to me and def can play multiple roles, but I actually like him playing the bad guy. The plot was good enough to keep interest, but will someone explain to me the last 2 minutes of the last scene where Mark is at the bar and in walks the lieutenant followed by the blonde co-worker... what was the point of that scene? Pretty gross ending if you ask me.

Both Russel Crowe and Mark Walberg's performances were decent enough but the storylines were weak. The suspense thriller part was not as intense making the movie just alright.

Wait for video store release. Not enough special effects and action more about the story.

I love Russell Crowe's movies! He played this role amazingly, the story was pretty interesting and it took them a while to predict what's going to happen.

A good "time waster"! Wondered why Wahlberg got top billing over Crowe... he was one of the producers!!! The "twists and turns" were predictable and really no surprises. This movie had potential but just never really made the grade. Like I say, A good "time waster"!!!

Not bad. Something that you just watch at home.

Story line way to hard to follow. Too much darkness in scenes and story. Good actors, not so good story.

Wowee! What a great story and the cast really shines in this flic. Wahlberg and Crowe are quite good in their roles and do the book justice on the big screen.

After reading negative reviews, I thought it wouldn't be very good. But, after seeing it, thought it was Great! Liked the story, twists/turns... worth seeing in theatres.

Acting was good, needed more action, deeper story. Expected more with Mark Wahlberg in it.

Broken City is the type of film that you could figure out just by watching the trailer. It has several narrative twists but none of them come as any surprise. It is a fairly bland, uninteresting film, unless you consider people sitting around drinking a lot of scotch exciting. This is a real shock considering it's directors The Hughes' Brothers work (M2S, From Hell, Book of Eli) is known for its stylish and compelling elements. Mark Wahlberg's principled tough guy is always fun to watch, as is the always terrific Russell Crowe as a slimy NYC mayor, but the material they have to work with is barely a notch above movie of the week territory and as a result the film just isn't as interesting as it should be.

Understand I do not pay the entrance fee to fall asleep, truly a mvie that had to be done to fulfill contracts and then some. If I could I would ask for a refund.

Saw this movie last night. OMG! The trailer makes the movie look so good, overall though, it really wasn't, the trailer shows some action, there wasn't any, good story and the movie had a lot of potential but just way to dragged on and then the ending was just so disappointing and all the talking, jeez I nodded off a few times. Really didn't enjoy it. Wish I saved my money. Very disappointed.

Boring, not exciting at all, over rated previews, and too predictable, not the best plot to show Wahlberg's talent, not suspenseful either.

I enjoyed the movie. The story is a little weak but Mark Wahlberg definitely made up for it.

Intriguing film. Keeps your attention. Good acting by cast. Some great lines. Could be called, Broken Lives, Broken Promises, Broken People, Broken Society, Broken Laws, Broken Morals. Too much language for my taste. The outcome of a world that has no anchor for right and wrong. Great twists/turns through the film. Enjoy the show!

I had a free pass and this film was certainly worth the price of admission. I also had a coupon for a free popcorn. The popcorn was better than the movie. As a TV movie, yes. As a theatrical release, no.

Wow! Loved it! Excellent stellar cast, action galore and loved the surprise ending. Wahlberg is very convincing in this difficult character/role.

This asinine flick is a fraud: it is NOT an "action" movie, or a detective movie, or anything but tired political propaganda. The story is stereotyped American political myths about how the "liberals" are somehow less sleazy and corrupt than the "conservatives" but even this agitprop couldn't make its "heroes" appear any less crooked and amoral than the "bad guys". Political propaganda masquerading as entertainment is always extremely boring, but this one could cure insomnia. I've rarely been more bored in my life. Unless you like to be preached at by the "sensitive, caring" types who "feel your pain," you would do well to avoid this yawn fest.

Decent movie. Nothing outstanding, but a good plot and some interesting twits at the end. Russell Crowe seems to be in every movie lately.

This movie is worth seeing, Russell Crowe is great as the corrupt mayor of New York. Not too complicated but with enough twists to keep the audience interested.
