Though I doubt very seriously this latest Marvel offering has the potential re-watch value of some of its other recent hits, it remains an entertaining ride much of the way, despite a lack of pumped up action sequences, and what could be describe as a lesser known comic character. But what Marvel seems to have a knack for is perfect central casting. I mean after Downey Jr as Tony Stark and Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson can you even doubt it? They score again here, as Cumberbatch is a terrific Stephen Strange, and yes the film is actually worth the Imax 3D ticket, with some pretty nifty effects. Might be a little too slow and toned down for those expecting the robust intensity of Captain America's last two film efforts, but that's one of the things I like about Marvel, its willingness to try something new, and much like Ant Man, Doctor Strange succeeds precisely because it's different.
