A lot of people wrote that Katy is 'an inspiration' and a 'good role model'. Especially for little girls. Let's get a reality check: Katy 'kissed a girl' and she 'liked it' fantasizing about the taste of the girl's lip gloss in one song and she sings about not having any regrets after a drunken party and threesome sex. Katy's success also led her to marry an effeminate man she was not suited to and who didn't fit into HER personal goals so she divorced quick. She says 'follow your dream' but what dream do young girls want after watching Katy? To be a pop star! Some role model who continually and publicly testifies that her 'Christian' upbringing is a sham even though she would never had become famous without its emphasis on music and singing. Katy Perry is Me-ism, candy-coated glam. Her talent is undeniable, and since it is something she is largely born with, success isn't that surprising. This doesn't happen to everyone and there are Katycats who will still remain cashiers and parking attendants as these jobs are just as important and more so. The important thing is not that you accomplish your dreams, but that you have the RIGHT kind of dreams. Otherwise, the producers of this movie could just as easily use the same message to follow the life of Hitler or Charles Manson. It is hard work to be famous. But I don't consider these men 'role models'.
