Schwarzenegger’s latest flick 'Maggie' is surprising to me.
I had no idea that it was a zombie movie, whereas I knew exactly what 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' was all about.
Disappointment. Too many cameoed characters popping out from nowhere.
Unlike that one, this was a breath of fresh air, as it was unexpecting and a fresh take on the genre. Though it was very dark and moody, it was filled with intelligence from Arnold. No machine guns.
It's everything you'd expect from a modern horror film. No?
I didn't doubt this Schwarzenegger movie for a minute. About two years ago, I had the chance to meet the hulking man at a book signing. There, he told me, he is on a roll to make more movies. This was my main reason to see it. What can the actor and now movie producer do for his career?
This movie is filled with a threat. A threat aimed at lives at hand. Unlike the usual zombie thriller, filled with hungry zombies, being glorified to kill. Yes, there were a few scares in it too. But nothing like 'other' zombie movies.
Some of them I can't stomach. Too much realism.
You can mainly read here, I am not giving away the plot. I don't do that. Why ruin a good movie for you? Why?
I was lucky to see a screening of it, as you may know, it's only playing' in one theatre in Toronto. What's up with that?
There were about 20 movie fans on the Friday night I saw it.
Very lame turnout for fans of this kind of movie.
I was expecting an abundant amount of moviegoers.
In the meantime, I'm off to more movies.
