RoboCop

I thought this would be a lot worse judging by the trailer. It takes guts to attempt a remake but it has been done quite a bit recently (Batman, Hulk, Superman, assorted non superhero flix) I think the producers/studios mostly know how to avoid a flop these days but it's hard to tell what's going to click with the public and become a hit. Sadly this isn't one of those, but it's really not bad. I was surprised how much of the original plot was maintained and the latest additions were not too fat fetched as I feared. Gary Oldman is sold gold, always is. The guy playing Alex Murphy was pretty weak imo but the wife was very good. Anyway it's not the same movie as the original and it's not an all out action flick. It's decent but not amazing imo. Sam Jackson's censored ending was hilarious. He also starts with a vocalise over the MGM lion-classic! His toupee wasn't so hot mind you...
