Shaun of the Dead

Click here to show this review. Yes, it is a masterpiece. George Romero was so impressed with it he wants the two lead actors to do a spot in his 4th final Dead film. By the way, 'Shaun' is not a 'spoof' of zombie films or a 'mock' zombie film. It is a zombie movie and an homage that just happens to be funny, romantic and tragic. If anything is spoofed, it is relationships and media. There is a GREAT plot and story because Shaun grows up to become a functioning adult at the end and THAT is what the story is about. The zombies were very seriously and respectfully done. The Brits reminded us again that ghouls can be REALLY dangerous without being marathon runners like in Dawn 04. I like this better than Dawn or its remake because Brits also have stinging satire down to a fine art. For those who gave it low marks for the 'high' gore, it's a ZOMBIE MOVIE, okay? Were you expecting 'Petticoat Junction'? I'm buying the DVD for sure after I see it a few more times.
