    The Accountant

A lot about The Accountant works. It has an intriguing story about a kid on the autism spectrum, who is molded by his military father into a cross between Will Hunting and Jason Bourne, and ends up cooking the books for some of the most undesirable people on the planet. It has strong work from Affleck, in a role dissimilar from anything he's done prior, great supporting work from Jon Bernthal and J.K. Simmons, and enough action, gunplay and narrative twists to keep audiences moderately entertained. Yet it seems like there was a classic here that never came to be, lost amongst the multiple tone shifts and plot lines bouncing around. Competently made in every respect, but ultimately, not nearly as memorable as its potential indicated it could be.
