This sequel starts off quite promisingly with a thrilling opening sequence anchored by Campbell Scott as Richard Parker, but quickly and I mean quickly, degenerates into a carbon copy of all the mistakes made in Spider Man 3. By trying to cram too much into one movie, nothing feels as if it gets enough screentime. Paul Giamatti's Rhino is literally in the movie for seconds, which is a con job many fans will not forgive and both Jamie Foxx's Electro and Dane Dehaan's Harry Osborn aren't developed fully enough to really garner any significant interest. Garfield and Stone try hard but what they have to work with here is pretty sub par. Even the big budget action scenes seem kinda underwhelming and cartoonish. Can't help but think this sequel was just an elongated advertisement for the next one, or the planned Sinister Six movie because it sure feels rushed and unfocused. A very disappointing effort, one which doesn't instill hope for the longevity of this new franchise.

My feelings exactly. Don't forget about the stupid plot about Osborn Corp inventing every super villain Spiderman ever faces. Ludicrous.
