When "The Amazing Spider-Man" played in theatres I didn't see it because I thought it would just be an inferior version of the 3 previous Spider-Man movies with Tobey MaGuire. Boy was I ever wrong. In a lot of ways it was superior to the first 3 movies. I really liked the re-imagining of the Peter Parker character, he wasn't as nerdy as Tobey was. The whole concept was a completely different take on the original movies. Great SFX and a better script to work with. Not taking anything away from the original 3 movies which were very good also I'm certainly not complaining having thouroughly enjoyed them too. I just liked the fact that the newer version had something new to say and I'm expecting great things from the sequels that are probably sure to come. A different director but basically the same producers as the first 3. I'm sure that old Stan Lee is laughing all the way to the bank.
