Happy New Year!
I haven't had a lot of time as of late due to the holidays, but I always get time to see a movie outside somewhere.
A bad habit of mine, seeing movies monthly.
Okay, about the dictator Kim Jong-Un movie: It is a bit lowbrow for those that are coming to see it in a theatre. You should already know what to expect about the communist state movie filmed/shot in Canada.
I was a bit excited to find out that the local theatre I usually go to weekly is showing "The Interview". This is the movie that started a ton of controversy due to its subject matter and the way impoverished North Korean hackers stormed at it by exposing Sony Pictures with a cyber-attack.
As I sat and watched it on Saturday, I soon realized nobody in North Korea would understand it or even think it's funny. In that regard, it is not credible. I don't think humour exists in that country.
Has everything been said about this movie already? Dire warnings from a country with starvation.
Now you can ask, so what is the result to the hype, thanks to the countless reports from the press?
Does it live up the hype?
Not really. Though it is kind funny during the course of the movie. I don't want to trash it.
Though, I am not really a big fan of the two main actors. I've never seen any of their movies. It's a well known fact they both have fans who like their foul-mouthed humour.
This wasn't the way I thought the movie would be as it could of been a lot funnier with trying to eliminate the leader.
The recycled jokes work this time by luck.
They took a risk with this one, but not with the finished script.
